What is the most important album from each decade of music?

ie. The most important album of the 60's, the most important album of the 70's etc.

I don't really have an opinion on the matter. Just interested to see what people have to say.

There is no right answer, but this thread seems challenging never the less.

I can give the 80's slot to Thriller, at least

EAGLE EYE 03-06-2010 12:54 AM

The 60's is by far the hardest choice. Probably goes to the beatles.

Longbongcilvaringz 03-06-2010 02:24 AM

Too hard to answer really.

Maybe a Nirvana album for the 90s.

I'd like to see a Pink Floyd album for the 70s.

EAGLE EYE 03-06-2010 02:38 AM

I think RATM truly captured the 90's. Their self titled album captured the unchanneled anger and frustration of society and the political landscape during that decade.

Although Fear of a Black Planet for example might counter that.

RATM and PE really did transcend through every social class and continent so it's a hard choice.

slept on thread

60s = In a Silent Way
70s = Low
80s = It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back
90s = Only Built 4 Cuban Linx
00s = Speakerboxxx/Love Below
10s = My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy (best album of this decade so far, but its obviously impossible to say if it will have the most impact in the decade)
