They weren't saying Avatar lost cause of how much it cost. They were saying it lost because Hurt Locker had actual people in the movie and not a bunch of computer graphics.
Also, lol @ Ghostlaced and others admitting that they never saw Hurt Locker, but saying that it definitely shouldn't have won best film. How can you say a movie shouldn't win a certain award, when you never even seen it? Knuckleheads. ha ha
Also, congrats to Transformers 2 for winning the Snazzies award for worst picture of 2009, and also for winning a bunch of other worst of categories.
