how does Allah sending down Iron considered a miracle?
And We sent down iron in which there lies great force and which has many uses for mankind.... (Surat al-Hadid: 25)
The word "sent down" particularly used for iron in the verse, could be thought of having a metaphorical meaning to explain that iron is given to the service of people. But when we take into consideration the literal meaning of the word, which is, "being physically sent down from the sky", we realize that this verse implies a very significant scientific miracle.
Me- Iron is predominantly mined as Hematite (Fe2O3), with some production coming from Magnetite (Fe3O4)
When the earth formed, there was no oxygen in the atmosphere, and under these conditions Iron is can be easily dissolved in water, so the oceans were rich in iron. Around 2000 million years ago, photosynthesis evolved and began to produced oxygen. This reacted with the iron dissolved in the oceans, causing crystals of iron oxide to form and sink to the seafloor. Over time, these layers of iron oxides were compressed and added to the continents. These deposits are known as banded iron formations, and account for the vast majority of all iron reserves on earth.
Iron is mentioned in the Bible in Genesis 4:22, 4000 Years before the Quran was written
