Cilva, as you can see the poll results are for the most part inconclusive.
I am not voting in this. Do you honestly want these assholes' opinions on anything? You think any of them know from putting an album (let alone a song) together? You've seen the level of "discourse" taking place here once you let it open for them to discuss: "faggot" this, "faggit" that, not exactly a considerate, thoughtful conversation, huh?
Go with your instincts. If a particular loop becomes fatiguing after awhile, maybe a change-up is due. If the pianos clash with the energy of certain verses, then switch it out for something harder. The only thing I would say is that the part with the pianos sounds right as is, ie. you don't need to add bass just for the sake of adding bass.
Can you tell me what the attitude of the artists involved is like with regard to this album? Are they dismissive about it, saying "that sound is over etc" are they into it, or is it just another paycheck for them?
I think this could shine a pretty good light on the Wu once again, where people who might've moved on awhile ago might start to say "aha! that's the Wu I've been wanting to hear", then they'd feel encouraged to do more of that raw Wu shit. Not exactly the same thing they did, but something like that Meth/Freddie Gibbs/Street song; it's updated in a way, but it still sounds like the Clan.
Anyway my point was don't come here for a bunch of retarded, virginal, angry message board A&R's opinions. You're not going to come away from here with something that's going to lead you in a direction you hadn't previously thought of. You're just going to get more of the same from the internet: a bunch of illiterate, angry douchebags arguing about everything without knowing what the fuck they're talking about. You know 4th Disciple, RZA, Bronze Nazareth. Ask them!
