Artist Turns Discarded Bicycle Chains Into Intricate Chandeliers

Multi-disciplinary artist Carolina Fontoura Alzaga has given discarded bicycle chains a new lease of life by turning them into chandeliers.
Using bicycle parts salvaged from scrap metal yards and bicycle shop dumpsters, she turns them into intricate sculptures and light fixtures.
“These subversive objects challenge the aesthetics of wealth by visually contrasting the classic elegance of the candelabrum with newfound elegance of discarded, mechanical bicycle parts,” said Alzaga in a statement.
