MITís inFORM uses Kinect to physically interact through a computer

The Tangible Media Group at the MIT Media Lab created a "self-aware computer" that allows users to affect physical space in front of the monitor, Fast Company reports.

The device is called inFORM and functions with the use of a pin board; each pin is connected to a motor made mobile by a computer. With the help of a Kinect, inFORM can map 3D objects and give users the power to actually move objects. When the user makes a motion in front of the computer's screen, their action is then translated by moving pins.

In the video above, you can watch as the user is able to push and cup a ball, pick up a flashlight and play a game with another person remotely.
