I watched this tonight. It was an interesting biography. Reading the plot synopsis for this movie prior to viewing though was a mistake. I kind of felt like I read and had the general outline of everything that was going to occur in the movie before watching. Thus, it felt a bit flat to me and nothing surprising or gripping occurred to put you on the edge of your seat.

It's a solid quality movie - directing and acting wise - so it's hard to pick it apart. Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto put in really good performances. The supporting cast and these two put themselves through some Christian Bale-like "Mechanic" shit as the movie progressed.

I haven't seen many of the movies up for Best Picture other than Captain Phillips but this year was a bit weak for quality movies compared to past years in my opinion. So, this could win.

I was kind of lost with the butterfly scene.

Prisoners is still my favorite of the year.

7.5/10
