fermented dairy products have less lactose than non-fermented

cottage cheese has basically no lactose (the bacteria eats the sugar)

lactose intolerance is usually a case of the sugar in milk being too potent for a person's digestive system

but dont get it wrong:

if you starve a 'lactose intolerant' person for a couple weeks, they will digest lactose just fine
