Default The WACK ass new school way to metaphor

What the hell is up with the way people spit these HORRIBLY lazy metaphors nowadays. Im talking the bullshit like Nicki's:

    ''Yeah, I said it, has-been
    Hang it up, flatscreen''

    ''I got bars, sentencin''

''You wanna sleep on me? Overnight?
    I’m the motherfuckin’ boss, overwrite''

    Or Drake:

''and your city faded off the brown, Nino,
she insists she got more class, we know!
swimming in the money come and find me, Nemo,
if i was at the club you know I ball’d, chemo,''

Im talking bullshit like this. Its something alot of people have adopted into their raps. And its lame. What do yall think,on some real shit

I even noticed Joell Ortiz doing that in that Battle Cry song (which is an incredible song btw)

    he goes:

"you got a little buzz....miller lite"

    "you're weak.......solar's letter" <----- I actually loved this one

my friend's and I were just talking about this, It's really all about how the MC uses it, it's a technique and you can tell when it's used well, and when it just seems forced, but Drake is teaching the kids to used forced metaphors by example and you can see it in a lot of net cat music on the forums and youtubes, but the Ortiz line was sick!

Agreed. When done right, its great,Joell is a monster, but the fact is that more shitty rappers use it wrong, theres very rare cats the quality of joell spitting it the right way

damn i happen to love this technique, especially since we cant really do it without sounding stoooopid as fuck in my native language, french....
that way you dont have to put "i'm ... like ... " every other bar so thats a rather nice trick.

It's horrible. It's like certain rappers these days are trying too hard to impress their listeners.

As for your Drake example, I'm more worried about the rhyming - that kind of rhyming is the main reason why I don't consider Drake a rapper. I write better than that.

EDIT: Nicki's rhyming is just as bad. It's real sad. I think I'm gonna take a bath.

^^I just competed with them both.
