    Default The Beach Boys

I grew up in Costa Rica listening to The Beach Boys 24/7 when I was a little guppy. One of the best bands of all time. Easily. With songs like "Don't Worry Baby," "Good Vibrations," "God Only Knows," "California Girls," "I Get Around," fuuuck the list goeeessss ooonnnnn. The great thing about this band is not only the unique melodies that every song had, but the lyrics actually made sense or told a story. So simple, yet perfectly written. Why isn't music like this made nowadays? Beach Boys FTW.

I remember hearing Fun fun fun a LOT when I was a kid and it got old real fast. I have always had a cassette of 'greatest hits' but I have honestly never listened to a whole album straight through.I had pet sounds for a really long time and just could never make it all the way through. It doesn't strike my mood for that long but I do give respect where respect is due and say that Brian Wilson Is one of the BEST songwriters of all time.

I think hes a better producer than songwriter. And I think he is a very good song writer.

The harmonies that man put in his music were enchanting

One of their never talked about but favorite albums of mine is Wild Honey. It's only 24 minutes long, but what an album. Brian Wilson just sits in the corner pounding away at his prized Baldwin piano providing basslines and Mike Love of all people sings lead. Still, it's perfect. Let the Wind Blow and Country Air are two of the greatest Beach Boys songs nobody knows about.

    ^^speaking of that

Just brilliant. It's such a shame they could never get it together to make Smile the way it was supposed to be made. Thank goodness for second chances.

Yup the Beach Boys were AMAZING!! If only they could have released SMILE back in '67... Sgt. Pepper would not be looked at in the same light for sure! SMILE would have totally eclipsed it!

I'm going to see Brian Wilson in concert a couple of times in September, can't wait! I saw him perform the complete Pet Sounds album live a few years ago!!! AWESOME!!!

My fave BB album changes constantly, at the moment I'm loving the 'Today!' album. The second side of that is seen as a precursor to Pet Sounds, like he was on the journey and working up to this epic masterpiece!

    Peace!

My favorite 30+ seconds in the history of music might be the end of Waiting For the Day.
