Redman needs to go indy, same with Meth, there done in the mainstream market, Def Jam obviously isnt intrested in artist with cult followings, there solution is to try and sell every artist they have to the same teenage-mid 20's audience, like if they keep throwing marketing dollars into it then Drake fans will buy a Redman album.........SMH, just let him go do him

thats not what hes saying lmao stop being so defensive.

Its true, a label like def jam or any other major label is going to try to make any old artist relelvant by making them copy a few hit radio singles and making them change their image. unfortunately major labels don't have the vision to see an untapped market, they think signing 50 drake or rick ross clones is better for business. You'll see in a few years how people like tyga, j cole etc will disappear because they aren't real artists, they just feed off whatever sound is in at the time.

That would make you 1 in a million then

Dont act like you didnt get the point Bruh, I'm sure there might be a handful of Slayer fans that own a Nickelback record but the vast majority probably dont and thats why there record companies dont market them to the same people

I don't mean to diss Redman because i'm a fan but the last album i liked by him was Muddy Waters. Doc's Da Name album has some songs i like. I didn't like his last 3 albums and i don't like Blackout albums with Method Man. So i won't be getting anymore albums by him. I don't like his mixtapes.

Blackout albums are wack but Y.O.U. song on first Blackout album is my jam. They had some cute women in the video.
