Default Gravediggaz' The Pick, The Sickle and The Shovel is underrated

I heard a lot of people say this album isn't as good as the previous album (6 Feet Deep). I agree with that but this still is a great album with some amazing tracks on it. It's just not as dark as the first one. I like RZA's beat on What's Goin On'. Is it just me or am I wrong? I didn't really like the third album, tried listening to it, it's not bad or anything. Lyrically, do you think The Pick, The Sickle and The Shovel was better than 6 Feet Deep? The beats were definitely better on the first album, but I don't know about the lyrics, seems pretty tough choosing if you ask me.

Wow never saw so much love for the 2nd Gravediggaz album on the internet, even though this is a Wu forum and Gravediggaz is kinda related to Wu with the members. I don't know if it's a classic, my favorite still is the first Gravediggaz album 6 Feet Deep, but this one never seems to be mentioned in my book. Great to see there's some love around here.

The reason some people hated on this album is the fact that it wasn't horrorcore at all really. Some people aren't thirsty for knowledge. This album was like Gravediggaz doing a more Wu tang style music. You stop horrorcore and start droppin knowledge instead some of your fans aren't gonna be feelin it. I think the album was amazing. Personal classic for sure.

Its kind of like Wu-Tang Forever; more serious thematically,a wider spectrum of beats, much more complex rhymes

Well, for me Wu-Tang Forever is lightyears more lyrical than 36 Chambers, so maybe I will end up liking the second one more than 6FD

Lyrics isn't everything though. The lyrics on the second album are superior to the first I think, especially Poetic and RZArector stepped their game up. I see the comparison with Forever, cause that album was also more about knowledge and wisdom, while the first album was more rugged and raw just like in this case. This is an amazing album.

I think all three Gravediggaz albums are amazing.

6 Feet Under was some bullshit though.

great album, complex lyrics and antique beats.

prefer 6ft deep though. it would be nice to have another album from gravediggaz with that dark, angry horrorcore style.
