Arrogance is a sign of someone having reached a certain point in their knowledge and being comfortable in that state. Willful stagnation. The refusal to learn anything further.

So arrogance and ignorance go hand in hand.

a knowledgeable person usually wants to show off his knowledge - he becomes wise when he asks questions about what he thinks he knows - he can ask himself, he can ask others, but if he's arrogant and wants to show off what he thinks he knows, he will not ask questions - and he'll throw stones at the ones who question his performance of knowledge -
now if the ones he is performing for is just as arrogant and also wants to show off what they think they know, you'll get a closed thread/bruised head -
