Its disgusting because it relies on preying on the weak. Music in general, but rap in particular, is just an exploitation of the weak. And these weaklings actually idolise pathetic scumbags that have never said an intelligent thing on a cd.

hip-hop had a pretty good run until the late '90s or early 2000s hit. people often forget the fact that there actually was such a thing as a Hip-Hop Golden Age. anyway, I blame the fans and the big cats running the show, not the rappers themselves

hip hop has created a nurturing environment for a person to be dog shit and the floodgates have opened
Such is the mentality/way of the ghetto. I'll definitely agree that rap music has had an overall negative affect on society. I don't feel that it creates the negativity but rather promotes it and attempts to justifies it. Sociological, economic, parental and educational factors create the negativity and hip-hop was birthed from that. Some used it as a tool for building, most as a tool of destruction. An intelligent person can discern fact from fiction but most people are not intent on becoming intelligent. They measure success in terms that are financial and material, hip-hop has undeniably promoted this. I love the Inspectah Deck line,'I own many jewels, drop more than I wear'. Even if most people understand that line I don't feel that they have the mentality to think of it themselves. Beggars can't be choosers and sadly most people are beggars whether they're aware of it or not.

Regardless of melanin levels some of us in here are from the ghetto. I celebrated the day I new I'd never have to live there again. The mentality you display through your statement is exactly what we're discussing. There's nothing wrong with just observing sometimes.

Tsa sounds like a politician. In response I'll give the standard. It's a reflection of society. It's basically the opposite of what you said. Swag.
