imagine sitting their in a nursing home dining hall when your like 94yrs old with sketti and thickened liquids... while you listen to some shitty mixtape you got off datpiff.com with a bunch of gun shots, sirens and DJ screaming.

the thing is hip-hop is still a new style of music, in the future there will be rappers with 60 years old rapping about mature important shit and not the bullshit materialistic shit we hear every day, thats kids stuff.

of course some classics are forever.

oh, and hip-hop is not like jazz that you can musically progress every single time you play it.

hip-hop gives to much importance to rappers, but the key players here are the producers.

and at 70 years old like Ghostface says on Mobb Deepīs "Right Back At You" I will be " In the jungle, banging Nas, Mobb Deep and Wu "

oh, Im not from NYC but I will also be 70 years old and will still feel this grittiness : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HHJKFyZnrhg

maybe because it will make me feel like Im 20 years old again.

Imagine breaking out the rare Warcloud material when "Leroy from across the hall" comes over to play cards?

people in their 40s and 50s probably still listen to the punk rock shit they grew up listening to in the '70s and '80s like Ramones and Clash and Minor Threat. hip-hop is no different

the thing that sucks aboout hiphop is that the fans DON'T KNOW THEIR HISTORY. ask a teenage rocker about '60s rock music and he'll tell you everything. now ask a rap fan about Rakim or Big Daddy Kane and he just looks at you like you're insane
