Instead of a horse to mount you could call Cappadonna to drive u in his cab as u embark on a mission to become the RZA's next weed carrier
^holy fuck LMFAO
haha, sounds better than the last wu tang game!
site has been updated again, hope this is definitely real but I'm starting to think it might be an elaborate hoax after all! Bethesda still haven't made any comment...
Either way I'm sure they're working on it
http://www.incgamers.com/2013/12/fal...-coded-messageWe’re not really any closer to knowing, conclusively, whether this thesurvivor2299.com site is a Fallout 4 hoax or an actual teaser site for a forthcoming announcement. The ‘Nuclear Winter is coming’ timer concluded today (after some suspicious hiccups,) resulting in … just another coded message.
That seems a bit underwhelming after a special countdown, honestly; and the server shenanigans that occurred before the new message appeared make me even more skeptical about this page than I was before.
Still, the new code and (now) decoded message keep the Fallout 4 ARG game going just a little longer. Perhaps in precisely the manner the hoaxer desires. The site’s new message ran as follows:
KVNGR REV ALPHA PPS VT PIZ UHMYLPVOQ CM XHWMZP. NBJB SPI’F BYQS QT D’Y BYFGEOB FI VQDYL MAQ. -NGQHT 5120- Nuclear winter has come
Thanks to the ever-diligent work of r/Fallout, this has been fairly quickly decoded. The first part (up to “PIZ”) is the code instructions. Keyed Vigenere cipher, reverse alphabet, passphrase Vault Tec. If you head to a site like this one hit the drop-down to say ‘decrypt,’ type the alphabet in reverse into the ‘alphabet key’ box, add ‘Vault Tec’ as the password and paste in everything from “PIZ” you should get the following:
THE INSTITUTE IS SEALED. THEY WON’T HELP US I’M HEADING TO BLACK ROW. -TBNLS 5120-
Another Institute reference (the MIT of Fallout) and the introduction of something called Black Row. Nobody seems to have convincingly figured out what ‘TBNLS 5120′ means just yet.
Again though, rather strange that a special countdown just lead to another code.
Update: There also appears to be new Morse code: “Calling all stations, this is overseer 119 emergency enemy unknown, SOS. Vault 119 Quabbin 7667, repeat, SOS, Vault 119 Quabbin 7667 enemy unknown”
So what are your thoughts everyone? Is this a hoax?
MAn...the mystery of this is exciting...I'm impatient man lol
no doubt ^^
I still don't think its a hoax site, shit is too elaborate
plus we know Bethesda was scouting the Boston area a year ago, and the Three Dog radio dude from Fallout 3 offered a teaser that we'd be hearing more from him. This game has to come out SOMEtime
Just under a week to go and we should hear something...
Nooooooooo, it was all a hoax.......
http://www.incgamers.com/2013/12/fal...-com-is-a-fakeThis evening the survivor2299.com website revealed its true colours in what has been a cruel hoax by a member of the Fallout community.
Last week we received messages from a Fallout fan who wanted to remain anonymous showing conversations with a member of the Fallout community who runs a Fallout Facebook page. The chat dialogue we were shown indicated that this member was getting “bored” with running the page and so concocted this elaborate hoax to troll the community.
Earlier in the week there were indications that this could be a hoax when the site started to fall over and the timer was reset to keep rolling. Despite this, the countdown continued and clues even started to ramp up in the past few days, including this afternoon.
The domain name was registered with GoDaddy using the name ZeniMax so it looked semi-legit when initial investigations began. According to our tip-off last week, a hosting plan was purchased to run for under 30 days which is why the countdown timer was set to run out at a rather odd time and day initially. The alleged plan was to post a troll face or a trolling message on the site when the countdown reached zero. The individual said he was doing this “just for fun”.
Bethesda have kept very quiet over the whole period the site has been running but they eventually posted this on Twitter this evening. It’s was a pretty standard PR response.
PSA: If you don’t hear it through an official channel like this, assume all rumors and speculation are false.
This has to be have been one of the best executed videogame hoaxes for a long time and it was brilliantly imagined by the individual. Despite there being clues such as the domain name registration information indicating it was likely a hoax, the Morse code and cryptic clues engaged the community and brought everyone together.
Goodbye cruel world!
that gif is fitting
I need rope.
Or better taste in games.
