Default College Dropout vs. The Blueprint

    VS.

Both of these albums have that new early 2000s soul sound that Kanye was building off of. Both of them are somewhat game changing and both are highly thought of, but which one do you guys think is better and why? Which one is more influential? Better production? Better raps?

I voted Blueprint bc the skits annoy the fuck outta me on College Dropout. Two great albums though. Good question.

^Fair enough, there are definitely too many skits on College Dropout, albeit they are better than most album skits. Blueprint does feel more concise.

I'll be honest both are quite decent albums -just above 4/5 stars, not 5/5- both have flaws, but because they tended to get a lot of airplay/replayed by people who do not appreciate hip-hop they are examples of albums from the genre which can be played to people of all musical tastes who will enjoy the majority of the album but there are still issue's to deal with such flaws that can be picked up by all, but both none-the-less very solid efforts.

Not trying to sit on the fence, but discussions on which is better is pointless as they are both albums of worthy praise with neither being completely faultless, but both enjoyable with personal opinion dictating one over the other.

^I'd say it is. It was the pinnacle of Kanye's sound at the time and not many were doing it like that. The range of emotions and atmospheres on display in the album were incredible.

^Maybe they were slightly better but they weren't so good that they dwarfed Ye's lyrics. Now, Reasonable Doubt's lyrics on the other hand...
