This album should've been one disc. It's alright but he has more bad songs than good songs. Home Alone is my jam and i like the video too. I was surprised he had several guest appearances from rappers. Noreaga was the only weak rapper on here. I think Noreaga was on a song with Camron and Jay-Z. I don't like r&b singers who sing more love songs than jams because i like jams/party music. R Kelly is one of the few r&b singers i like that sing more love songs than jams. That's why i love funk groups like Dazz Band, Kool And The Gang, Cameo, Lakeside, Zapp, The Time, Con Funk Shun, Parliament/Funkadelic, Midnight Star, The Gap Band. There will never be groups like this again who made jams and that's why r&b music will continue to be dead until i die LOL. 90's was the last good decade for r&b.

If you mean by death that the R&B industry is fucked up, it happened way earlier. Soul music died in the 80s when the shit went disco and pure funk (don't confuse it with soulfunk groups like Kool and the Gang or Earth Wind and Fire or artists like Gloria Lynne). 90s was mostly horrible, but there will always be artists that stand out. Erykah was unique, D'Angelo is a great singer, Dwele and Bilal I don't like a lot but they do have talent. Daptone has some great R&B/Soul releases. If you digg you will still find.

Theres been many great soul artists since the 80's. just say you don't like the sound of post 80's r&b (because thats the only conclusion to be drawn if you only like erykah and d'angelo) rather than try and rewrite history.

I meant to say the 80's was the last good decade for r&b.

Nobody from the 90's and after that has made good party music like the bands i mentioned from the 80's. Bell Biv Devoe, Tony Toni Tone, R Kelly, Silk, Bobby Brown were the only 90's r&b singers i liked.

I'm sure there have been great artists and there is more than D'Angelo and Erykah Badu, probably even better ones I'm not familiar with. But the mainstream pop/soul/rnb used to be a lot more talented. I liked the instrumentation, it really added something to the vocals of the singer. You will always find some talented artists if you search for it, but I can't listen to Frank Ocean or Weeknd or the R&B you hear nowadays. I can't listen to their singing and repeat it, cause nothing really stands out. Soul music was so passionate and it's beatiful to hear the pain in a singers voice.

Ofcourse all the things I say is opinion. What I meant with funk&disco is that soul/r&b never used the claps they were using in disco music until the 80s started. For example Marvin Gaye's Sexual Healing (great track, but definitely different from before) clap. They used that sound a lot. In the 80s you had KC & The Sunshine Band, Genesis, Bee Gees making the disco/funk type of rnb music.

Yeah i mean a lot of it didn't change in terms of songwriting but the production changed a lot over the years. I like some of the older stuff but not often.

I guess you lean to more natural sounds. I was listening to TLC's Fanmail today and its completely unnatural sounding and poppy.

You would probably like some of the neo soul shit, to me theres not enough variety but theres a few good ones like amel and saadiq.

Don't make me laugh about Raphael Saddiq hahahahahahahahahaha. His Instant Vintage album cover is gay because of the woman's dress he wore LOL. I don't like his solo albums but Tony Toni Tone's albums are good except their first album Who and he should've stayed with them.
