and shit Earth AD over Static Age? Samhain is super dope btw

its kinda repetitive to have multiple albums by the same people on a top 25 list eh?

I'm not familiar with Opeth. I love Black Sabbath but they didn't make the cut. Black Sabbath, Paranoid, Master of Reality, Vol. 4, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, Sabotage and Heaven & Hell are their best albums.

It wasn't easy narrowing it down to only 25. Static Age is a great album but I prefer the speed & intensity of Earth AD. What it really boils down to is for whatever reason these are the albums I find myself listening to the most.

I'd be interested in seeing other peoples lists they come up with regardless of genre

*6 Feet Deep is back and the list is final

These are my favourite 25. This is in no order other than I have a number one favourite and the rest are just as they come to me and I'll put in my favourite track of the album. I could honestly do a top 50 albums

    1. Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon
    Time

Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here
    Wish You Were Here

Augustus Pablo - This Is Augustus Pablo
Marabi (it's on the remaster which is what I have)

Augusts Pablo - King Tubbys Meets Rockers Uptown
    Keep on Dubbing

Scientist - Rids The World Of The Evil Curse Of The Vampires (GTA 3 K-Jah station was this album)
    Your Teeth In My Neck

Scientist - Wins The World Cup
    Dangerous Match 2

The Congos - Heart of the Congos
    Fisherman

Miles Davis - Kind Of Blue
Just the whole album, this masterpiece can't be split in to songs

    Nas - Illmatic
    It Ain't Hard To Tell

    Jay-Z - Reasonable Doubt
    Can I Live?

Parliament - Mothership Connection (no other album touches my heart like this. I tripped on acid listening to this album on repeat for 4 hours)
    Unfunky UFO

Funkadelic - Standing On The Verge Of Getting It On
    Good Thoughts, Bad Thoughts

Baby Huey - The Living Legend
    Hard Times

    Black Sabbath - Paranoid
    War Pigs

    Wu-Tang Clan - Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)
    C.R.E.A.M.

    Curtis Mayfield - Superfly
    Little Child Running Wild

    Shuggie Otis - Freedom Fligh
Strawberry Letter 23 (The Brothers Johnson version sucks wang)

Jimmy Cliff - The Harder They Come soundtrack
Desmond Dekker - 007 (Shanty Town)

    The Doors - The Doors
The End (possibly my favourite song of all time and it's censored on my vinyl version)

Bob Marley and The Wailers - Exodus
    Exodus

    Ghostface Killah - Ironman
    Daytona 500

    GZA - Liquid Swords
    4th Chamber

    Tapper Zukie - M.P.L.A.
    Marcus

Isaac Hayes - ...To Be Continued
    The Look of Love

    2Pac - R U Still Down?
    Only Fear Of Death

I have to throw in a 26th album

Sly & Robbie - Raiders of the Lost Dub
    Who's In The Tomb?

Bushido is realised in the presence of death.
This means choosing death whenever there is a choice between life and death.
    There is no other reasoning.

Also I threw one straight blues album in that list, but I'd really rather do separate lists for blues and hip hop.

Yeah my list is pretty generic. Not much hip hop in there and I didn't realise how much dub I had in there whereas if I did a list of favourite songs it'd have a lot of soul and funk, I definitely could do another 25 I'll do that when I get home. I listen to my music mostly on vinyl so I'm in to albums and like a lot.

Venom, Celtic Frost and Sepultura are not black metal. Might be proto black metal, but black metal was defined by the stuff Darkthrone and Mayhem done a decade later. Venom doesnt sound anything like that. Its just trash with satanic themes.

Opeth are excellent. As are Black Sabbath. Sabbath are probably one of my favorite bands ever. Their first 6 albums are pretty much perfect with Sabbath Bloody Sabbath been the highlight for me.

Man they made some great chill out shit

Seen them live last year. As energetic as guys in their 20's.

Nice lists by the way. Is it just me or do all Aussies love Pink Floyd?

My list is just a personal favourite list. It's not a 'greatest albums' list, although the two probably wouldn't vary greatly.

But yeah no doubt Oasis' first two albums were their best. And when it came out I thought 'Don't Believe the Truth' was pretty forgettable. It wasn't until I went through a fresh Oasis phase not long ago that it emerged as my favourite of their albums. I actually was bumping mostly their last 3 albums during that phase, and not listening to those first 2 much at all.

Everybody should love Pink Floyd cos they're the GOAT, lolz.

Wrong. Its called first wave black metal, Scandinavian is second wave

    black met·al
    noun
a type of heavy metal music having lyrics that deal with Satan and the supernatural.

The Norwegians did not define it and its not nearly as good. Venom was the first black metal band, rugged production, evil riffs, harsh/witchy vocals, satanic lyrics. They coined the term and considered themselves black metal. Just because a couple of Norwegians did something different in the 90s doesn't mean the old bands are not considered black metal.
