Default Jack Johnson, Matt Costa, ALO, etc.

I love this stuff. Summer 2003 I saw Jack Johnson (surfer) open for Ben Harper, summer 2005 I saw Matt Costa and Animal Liberation Orchestra open for Jack. The other night I saw Matt Costa at a free record store performance, he stayed 2 hours after to sign autographs, take pictures, and talk to people. Tom Dumont (guitarist for No Doubt) produced Matt's "Songs We Sing" cd and played a little on it also plays with him live. Zach Gill from ALO plays keys and accordian on Jack Johnson's cds. Donavon Frankenreiter is also one of their surfer buddy musicians. Do any of you listen to this stuff too?

Comparing Jack to James Blunt is like comparing GZA to Lil Jon.
Jack's got some lyrics. Here's some good lines.

"Got my plans in a ziplock bag, now lets see, how unproductive we can be" - 'Symbol In My Driveway'
"Cars and phones and diamond rings, bling bling, those are only removable things" - 'Gone'

    he's got more, but whatever

I agree with you about Hendrix, his fingered his guitar nicely.

    Jack's a surfer, music's second nature

The earth is a very small stage in a vast cosmic arena. Think of the rivers of blood spilled by all those generals and emperors so that in glory and in triumph they could become the momentary masters of a fraction of a dot.

People are too stupid to effectively conspire to do anything, but not too stupid to come up with conspiracy theories.

I heard a little to much of Jack Johnson's music. He's good, but not all the time.
