basically they just started being ignorant and pig headed. read the wu-tang manual.
The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. (Romans 1:18-20)

all i know is that when that tour rolled through here, there were plenty of wu heads out there. when it was announced (last minute BTW) that The Wu was not there and that The Roots were going to take their place, it looked like a riot was about to start.

The majority of the members started getting lazy, unfocused and stopped showing up at shows, this lead to a lot of friction between different members (i.e. RZA vs. the majority of the Clan) because of the fact that some showed up at shows and had to rock 'em by themselves while others were at some other place doin jack shit. In the end they just pulled out of the tour. RZA explained this in an interview like 2 years ago...
