Thread: Do you consider Hell On Earth an all time classic?

Default Do you consider Hell On Earth an all time classic?

I do. I dont think it quite matches Infamous but it still a classic to me. Classic raw beats, straight rhyming, no bullshit. When that Scarface sample comes on its like oooh fuck they killed it.

All I would say is that I thought Havoc was taking a little from RZA cuban linx (cuban came out a year earlier) style at times especially on tracks like Animal Instinct sample, but maybe not. And the illha G verse pisses me off but apart from that I cant see any weak points.

Ghost Im just gonna repeat what I said on another post:

Sometimes I think some of you don't know the meaning of the word classic.
If you think it is a personal classic then fine but to generally call it a classic is a mistake.

nope, not even a personal classic.
The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. (Romans 1:18-20)

Its an all-time classic. Although I have it slightly lower than The Infamous, its top 10 to me. Havoc production between 95-96 is just as good as RZA production from 95-96. G.O.D. Pt. III is insaaaaaane. Its got ill guest appearences too, from Nas, Meth, Rae, General G (what happened to this guy).

Its a dope album but not a classic.

I was never into this album, except for a few songs(Apostle's Warning is one of their best tracks ever)
As for myself: I had come to the conclusion that there was nothing sacred about myself or any human being, that we were all machines, doomed to collide and collide and collide.

its a perosal classic for me.. as far as a hip hop one, i dunno, i dont see why it definitely shouldnt be but i dont think it broke new ground. imo its good enough to be a classic.
