Rakim doesnt do it for me because all he does is that braggadocious shit. Nas is way more versatile and nas brought the new flow to the game while ra usually has that same monotone boring ass flow. Just because Rakim came before Nas doesnt mean shit, just that hes older. nas is as much a pioneer as ra is. Rakim will tell you that Nas passed him.

Ive listened to 5 of his albums.

its not like rakim is an athlete and has to retire from rap due to old age. because he can still pick up pen. so why is nas still droppin nice albums and rakim not? Rakim cant adapt in the new era like nas has.

    Nas>Rakim
and yall making it seem like I dont like ra, I love Ra, but I only give so much props for being the first to do it. its what have you done lately.

nas adapted to the new era? did SD even go gold? thats a laugh if you really beleive that.

im gonna assume you really are 16, and if thats true, then you're just a dumb little 16 year old, but you really sound dumb and are talking out of your ass and i don't know what youre getting out of this lol

What age got to do with it? I listened to the albums. SD did go platinum fyi. plus thats not the point anyway. point is Nas is still a relevant MC rakim is not. Im not some robot whose gonna go along with everything forced to me and say that rakim is automatically the god of all rap. He has flaws just like any other rapper. Fuck gettin a free pass as auto GOAT cause of your reputation as the creator of lyricism.

Ra never wrote a verse this hot

    One for the money
Two for pussy and foreign cars
Three for Alize niggaz deceased or behind bars
I rap divine Gods check the prognosis, is it real or showbiz?
My window faces shootouts, drug overdoses
Live amongst no roses, only the drama, for real
A nickel-plate is my fate, my medicine is the ganja
Here's my basis, my razor embraces, many faces
Your telephone blowin, black stitches or fat shoelaces
Peoples are petrol, dramatic automatic fo'-fo' I let blow
and back down po-po when I'm vexed so
my pen taps the paper then my brain's blank
I see dark streets, hustlin brothers who keep the same rank
Pumpin for somethin, some uprise, plus some fail
Judges hangin niggaz, uncorrect bails, for direct sales
My intellect prevails from a hangin cross with nails
I reinforce the frail, with lyrics that's real
Word to Christ, a disciple of streets, trifle on beats
I decifer prophecies through a mic and say peace.
I hung around the older crews while they sling smack to dingbats
They spoke of Fat Cat, that nigga's name made bell rings, black
Some fiends scream, about Supreme Team, a Jamaica Queens thing
Uptown was Alpo, son, heard he was kingpin, yo
Fuck 'rap is real', watch the herbs stand still
Never talkin to snakes cause the words of man kill
True in the game, as long as blood is blue in my veins
I pour my Heineken brew to my deceased crew on memory lane

gimme one verse from Ra thats toppin that.. or accept the fact that Nas is a better lyricist than him.

and dont give me no age bullshit cause I gaurantee my hip hop knowledge is at or above yours.

nas wouldnt be the one to tell you that cause hes humble

    but
    Illmatic>paid In full
nas catalog is way better than Ra's and thats kinda not fair in a way cause Nas was in a newer era but he is the reason rap advanced to that newer era b/c of Illmatic

    follow me?
nas lyrics are sub par, he forces multies and makes him sound nasal

Rakim is a punch master and wordplay behemoth

what does age have to do with it? you said rakim had no flow...but you're a fucking moron, when rakim came out he blew everyone away, everyone thought they were sticky fingaz on the mic just screaming and shit, and then smooth rakim came along and just killed it. it was breakthrough, you were talkin out of your ass saying that nas came through with some crazy new flow or some shit when in reality that never happend. and all your nas>>rakim i don't agree with at all, and thats far from nas' best verse, and there are plenty of rakim verses that rip that, i'm not gonna argue with you about something so trivial, you think you broke this shit down to a science but i mean you haven't supported any evidence for your argument you post up 1 track, w/e you do your thing homie have fun thinkin you know, 1 love to rakim allah, and with the age thing, think about it, i have at least 6 rakim albums, you're 16 now + i don't know where you're from, you don't know a lot of about life and probably don't fully understand a lot of lyrics, you say you know all of nas and rakim shit, that would mean youd have to have been bumping for years to be able to do that, thats like 13 LPs right there at least, which would mean you first heard rakim/nas a few years ago, which would make you like 13, which would mean you don't have a clue.

I never said rakim had no flow, I'd just said it got repetitive on most songs he did. Hell yea for the time paid in full dropped his flow was incredible. you'd be a fool to say Nas didnt come in and expand on it.

Ive been listening to Nas since I was 8. I first heard Paid In full when I was probably 11. And what kinda dummy cant understand rap lyrics?? Dont get mad at me because you were an imbecile at the age of 16 and didnt understand rap lyrics until you were 28. How dare you insult my intelligence like that?

It takes about what? An hour at most to listen to a whole LP? Yeah Im 16, but its easier to catch up to music than you think. You can probably listen to 200+ albums a year. Plus hip hop is my life so Im always listening.

Rakim is in my top 2 behind Nas. It seems like Im going hard at him but thats what your supposed to do when your arguing for 1 side correct?

    but i guess

    we know the facts
    but we have the opinions.

    peace.

    inconsistant: nas = agree

nas not changing the game w/Illmatic = disagree. Every rapper will tell you about Illmatic

nah not for me great fucking album, legendary, but change the game
example BIGGIE change the game up even nas switch up from gritty classics like anit hard to tell & halftime to some wanna be gangsta shit rocking pink suits in videos & the whole firm thing
I think nas would even say he anit fucking with Rakims discography, Nas even wrote a song to pay homage to the great titled U.B.R. (Unauthorized Biography Of Rakim) pretty sure ya heard it

That goes to show you how ridiculously talented Nas is. He experimented out of his trademark of Illmatic with IWW and it's a fucking classic. The unreleased I AM AUTOBIOGRAPHY is near classic, then his label fucked it up by releasing that double LP of I AM & Nastradamus.

Biggie changed the game alright, for the worst =/
