Thread: Wu u might not know...

Default Wu u might not know...

I'm pretty sure I'm aware of most of what they've put out.. or songs that Wu-Elements have produced, but I could be missing some..

    for example..

Mathematics' beat for "Oh Donna" as it appears on the album is completely different from the instrumental version. On the instrumental track, there are a couple of samples & other elements that are not included on the album version. I just randomly came across some 12" promo for.. I forget which song.. maybe "Black Boy".. and the b-side is "Oh Donna" w/ this alternate instrumental track. I didn't even know this promo existed.

True Master produced some track for a Korean artist a few years ago.. anyone know the name of the artist/song? I've never heard this.

Also, "Party Crasher" is actually a RZA remix.. the True Master original beat for that track was fucking A-MAY-ZING.. but there's only a short clip of it floating around the internet.. anyone have it? .. Meth said that once the first couple of pressings that shipped to stores were all sold out, that album would be re-released with the original "Party Crasher" beat.. this probably won't/didn't happen.. ..right?

I can hardly count Goldfinghaz as a Wu-Element considering he's some corny house music producer.. and is more of an in-studio or "house" (not the genre) producer than he is a Wu member.. even though he did do some good shit for a minute.. like the stuff on the 2nd Gravediggaz and The Pillage and "Holdin' New Cards" by Scaramanga (one of my favorite beats) .. he also remixed "You Will Rise" by a group called Sweetback, and it's credited as a mix by Goldfinghaz - has anyone heard this? does anyone have it?

    what else is out there?

the B-side of the original Protect Ya Neck 12" is the "method man (homegrown mix)" which is the original version with another verse (i think). also in the instrumental/video version of CREAM, there is this awesome twinkling sound that appears here and there, that i have never heard in the album version.

that reminds me.. I've never heard those promo-only remixes of "Method Man" ..I forget what they're called (and they're probably wack() but they were done by like west coast producers I think.. probably an aborted attempt to play to the radio over in cali I guess..

The original Party Crasher beat can be heard on the T2000 instrumental album. I like the "Rza remix" better.

holy fuck. really!? is that like a white label/bootleg release or whatever? it doesn't matter, I'm getting it.

there's also a weird remix of "Bring The Pain" on the 12" single.. it's not credited to anyone, it just says "Bring The Pain (Remix)" .. it's the same backing track ..but the mix is different and includes this shimmering sample or synth coming in every now and then.

"One Step (Radio Edit)" by Killah Priest is different too in a weird way.. the levels of the beat's mix is different and tekitha's vocals are re-recorded for some reason.. hmmm

That BTP remix is by the Rza, if it's the same one I'm thinking of, It was the B-side on something, I want to say The Riddler 12", don't know of that's right.

The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. (Romans 1:18-20)
