U-GOD! peep his ridiculously classic slept on verse on Triumph. Deck gets the most respect 4 that but U flows sick on this 1 2 n the whole LP.

Honestly, I don't think everyone on Wu-Tang Forever was in thier prime. It's on Forever that RZA started to switch up his style and spit "knowledge", but to me that's when he became subpar. He was already moving in that direction on tracks like Wu-Gambino's, Assassination Day, and 4th Chamber, but he killed it on those tracks. On Forever he pushes it over the edge though and it just sounds like nonsense.

GZA comes correct throughout the whole album as usual. Crazy lyrics and he could still flow back then, so it doesn't sound awkward like he spits now.

Deck manages to outshine GZA which is impressive. Compared to Meth, he might be the runner-up of the album. People focus too much on his Triumph verse and fail to see that he had several verses just as tight on other songs.

Cappadonna isn't that good. I always skip over his verse on Triumph because it's garbage. I think he really takes away from the album. Cappadonna's was at his best on Ironman, but he fell off on Wu-Tang Forever.

U-God spits the same nonsense as usual. I'm not gonna shit on him though because I just don't feel his style. I guess he's the nicest he ever was on this album, but that's not saying much.

Masta Killa comes correct, but he's overshadowed by GZA and Deck. He has some really captivating verses though and although he isn't noticed at first, after a couple of listens he stands out more.

Ghost and Rae are mediocre. However, mediocre Ghost and Rae is much better than U-God, Capp, or RZA on this album. On Forever Ghost is in a transition into his Cobra Clutch style and anticipating his Supreme Clientele verses. Rae's also developing a much more abstract, but still very much crime-oriented style that he runs with today. Rae > Ghost.

    Dirty is dirty.

Which leaves us with Meth. Meth's arguably the star of 36 as well. He had a title song, but it's on Forever that he shut everyone down. Rae, Ghost, GZA all had certified classics by this time while Meth had already come out with a very good album, but it definetely wasn't as classic like OB4CL, LS, or Ironman. He spits flames on every Wu-solo up until Wu-Forever so you know he was real hungry by the time Forever came around. Meth himself has said that he doesn't even like his first album, probably due to the fact that, being the first of the clan to release a solo, he had no precedent to compete with. While it wasn't a solo, he had enough opportunities own every track he was on and he did just that IMO. He hadn't become all Hollywood yet, so he was still in a Wu-frame of mind.

    Argue with that.

Along with Shadowboxin' and Wu-Gambinos, Forever is definitely Meth at his best for me. In my opinion though, Deck still outshines him on the album overall.

*from memory, so may be wrong*:
    "It's only natural,
Actual facts are thrown at you,
the impact'll blow trees back and crack statues,
    Million dollar rap crews fold,
    Check the sick shit, explicit,
I crystalize the rhyme so you can sniff it..."
    - So underrated.

I always thought they all performed really well on Forever. I'm not sure who I think the best was overall, but I have always that U-God's verse on A Better Tomorrow is the best one on the album:

Curses from war, innocent blood spills for days
Soothe in godly ways, hands, solemn in praise
Tree of life, more precious than Wu is golden game
The wise self flourish inherit, Halls of Fame
Crime visions in my blood got me, locked in prison
While we die hard living people whine about religion, vision
Blow, spin, and sin and killing what's revealing
It's a never ending battle with no ending or beginning, listen
Zero process, progress, become the hunted
America's most wanted, good life flaunted, want it
Some love the speed, some satisfy a need
Some want to be down, young gun seed, jungle breed
The strong must feed, someone die, someone bleed
One flew astray, and then caught my little seed
Can it be, the ice have us trife life, made me grab the knife
The righteous man would be within these stripes pipes
Take in my energy, breath and know the rest
Cause the good die young and the hard die best

    again, i sigh...
i think they all contributed to an amazing, classic album
but rza and cappadonna stood out to me personally

I think Deck is the hero of the album. A classic solo track, every one of his verses is classic
