lol what? because we arent involved we're not supposed to be curious or ask questions?

ghost is one of my favorite MCs so hearing something like this sparks some disappointment....i dont see anything wrong in talking about it. and isnt it because we 'dont have any knowledge of the situation at all' that we speculate about it? lol come on now...

thats fine, but certain individuals are making very strong comments and aren't just "speculating" and are also making very harsh judgments. if you fail to see this i will begin quoting.

i mean i guess you can if you want....

there seems to be some evidence here that would support superb at least having more than a little to do with supreme clientele-so im just being hypothetical here. im not sure if youre referring to me; but its surprising to think that SC wasnt completely a ghostface killah work so its a lot to process.

that album was so avant garde and banging man...like ghost was really on some Dadaist shit, if indeed its his own writing. id really be interested to hear what ghost would say if he was asked about this.

I just think that Superb is a really creative dude. 4th Disciple even claimed once that Perb's the greatest out of the "Wu fam" he ever worked with. Ghost loved him too. So the guy definitely has talent as an artist.
To me its conceivable that he gave Ghost the concept and inspiration for his album and/or influenced his style rather than that he ghostwrote some, or even all the verses. Kinda like RZA did for the first Wu solos... If it comes to slang, I think it is normal and understandable - especially for an MC in the spotlight who isn't often in the hood - to use what you hear from the people around you. That is what slang is, the language of your environment. And Ghost has always been around those younger dudes, like Trife and Superb, and maybe he does it to stay fresh in a way. I don't think that's really a big thing. Maybe Ghost could have cared more about him and continued to put him on, but then maybe he went to jail and Ghost thought "Fuck him!". Who knows. Of course that's all speculation, and this talking won't help to improve our understanding of this matter. So until I ever have the chance to sit down and talk to Ghost and/or Superb in privacy, I'll just have it like Dre said:
"The record business is exactly what it is. Record. Business. And you gotta take care of both!" Industry lessons for Lord Superb...

unless ghost says it im not believing it.

same with all that shit about AZ and Mega writing for NaS.

notice how its always guys who had weaker careers?

ghost has had his own style since 93', Superb can say whatever he wants, but i dont think anyone will believe him until its backed up.

basically its just looks like a bitch move from an mc that didnt make it in the game and now wants some more exposure.

fact is, none of us no for sure what the deal is, so its all speculation.

Lame, lame, lame. He must be mad and broke.

Slang is not a form of biting, ya'meen? My family picks up a lot from me that I unconsciously repeat from hip hop songs. As the world turns...

I wonder if Ghostface and Rae will respond.

good post...i think you have the nail on the head. it seems more possible than anything that ghost was heavily influenced by superb's style and used some slang that was introduced to him by superb...superb is very well aware of this and embittered because he never got the acclaim and respect that ghost did for a style that he sort of introduced to ghost. that makes a lot of sense...and the whole slang thing was a great point too...ghost may have had the same style as superb during the post-forever-SC era, but his stuff still had more quality than superb's, just as he always has.

i do believe mega's claims about writing some stuff on IWW, though...all he said was that he wrote the chorus on Street Dreams and the Nas line on affirmative action "life's a bitch but god forbid the bitch divorce me/i'll be flooded in ice so hell fire cant scorch me" (wow)....very specific; not trying to take credit for the whole album, just pointing out the instances where he wasnt credited for giving Nas some stuff. and since they were around eachother a lot, it makes sense. just like how clan members used to give eachother lines or complete eachother's verses back in the 90's.

Also if you listen to Tearz you can hear the beginning stages of that emotional style that Ghost uses.

i always skip Superb`s verses because hes wack, hes a no name trying to get some attention from the crowd. Ghost outshined this cat on every track he was on, if he really wrote SC than he could atleast wrote a decent verse for himself. besides that, if Ghost stole his emotional style than he did it because Superb sucks at it. hes flow is garbage aswell.
