    Both are dope

you know how hollywood 90% of the time fucks up in making a superhero film with good visuals and a compelling storyline/acting?

Red Eagle doesnt, definetely watch it homie.

Merantau is like Indonesian Ong-Bak in that its a tale of a simple moral village boy who goes to the big city and beats up bad guys. to my untrained eye, the Indonesian Silat style is similar to Muay Thai too. excellent fighting, Iko Uwais is badboy

No doubt you've seen The Raid? well the exact same director, main actor (Iko Uwais) and bad guy (Mad Dog wit the long hair) were in Merantau 2yrs b4 Raid)

Just watched A Bittersweet Dream (2005) its not really martial arts but its a great Korean film about a mob enforcer who has a conflict between morality and duty.

if you guys like these deadpan Asian films with gritty visuals and minimum dialogue then watch it.

The Mob boss puts in an excellent performance

    7.5/10
