    Default Wu-tang Has A Conscience

Most people see Wu-Tang as a hardcore/gangsta rap outfit. but the wu is/has been conscious of social and political issues from the very beginning.

Pay attention to Tearz. Very few rap groups encourage safe sex. In Tearz Ghost tells a story of a friend who had to learn the hard way how important it is to protect one's self.

America is Dying Slowly is another wu track in which they cover safe sex and aids

numerous other tracks like A better Tomorrow are socially conscious.

the best known wu track is in my opinion often misunderstood. and that track is CREAM. the track is not really about the pursuit of money. although the chorus and the especially the video (at the end) suggest that it is. it's really about progress in my oponion. in many ways to progress and get out of the ghetto who may need to be financilly in a better position. that's the message, i think, they're tryin to convey

    anyway, feedback?

    "Better Tommorrow" off of "Forever"

Most of wu songs theres a message!!!

Nice topic. I feel that. I listen to loads of hiphop, but it's always about nothing. Just representing, bitches and money. Some other cats come with strong political lyrics sometimes, but the true spiritual, political and the knowledge and wisdom in the Wu lyrics... Well, nobody can touch that. People need to recognize.

people who think of them as just gangsta rap have prolly never heard a wu album. the fact that wu spits conscious rap is nothing new to those who have been listening to them.
The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. meth says "cash rules everything around me" not because it is ruling his life, or his wu-bros. he is simply stating that cash rules everything around me and it's a bitch.

    Cash rules *everything around me*

In other words: It rules everything around me but it doesn't rule ME.
