I still have the figure somewhere up in my attic. There wasn't a cobra logo on the outfit, just his clan one.

Haha, well I can't beat that!

Don't think I got any kicking around anymore, but I still got my star wars figures somewhere! Always heard people saying they were worth money, so never threw them away. Never sold them either, so you have to wonder what the point is...

The point is that they brought you joy as a child, they played their part to help mold you into the person you became. lol

As a kid I was a big GI JOE fan, mainly because the figures were quite cheap to buy (roughly around the 3 quid mark) and my mum used to get me some of the vehicles for birthdays and such.

My action figures were pretty much made up of three groups....

    Transformers

    GI JOE

    Superheroes (mainly marvel)

Wasn't much of a star wars kid, loved the films but wasn't big on the toys although my friend had a shitload so it balanced itself out.

The dude playing Cobra Commander is also being cast to do the live action Akira flick I see.

"One arm bandit..stab companions with intricate sentences...battle crews single- handed..with cannons that blow you from here to other planets."

I think his role in Akira is still a rumour at this point.

Don't mention the Akira film. I know they're gonna fuck it up. Why can't Hollywood come up with a new story of their own?

Well they didn't fuck up on Sin Ciy and 300. Graphic Novels are easier to adapt in some regards because the storyboards are already mapped out on the pages.

There's a lot more to Akira than Sin City though.

I fail to see the point though. If you got an anime film already, what's the need for a live action one?

Yeah certain animes don't belong to the live action scene. Hopefully..maybe it will be good. I sure hope G.I. Joe is good.

Never seen it, sounds like a gay porn film though!

This has got me thinking, I'm gonna start a 'Child Of the 80s nostalgia thread'.

You never watched The Bionic 6?.....it was a cartoon off shoot of The 6 million dollar man and The Bionic Woman. The figures were made out of weighted plastic, those things were heavy as fuck, I shit you not you could have used them as weapons.

A Voltron flick is in the works also.
