the reason I dont consider Burial dubstep is because of his lack of baselines ..i dont see how you can be dubstep if your huge baselines arent driving your rhythms ..his drum patterns are dubstepish ..but really id agree hes in the minimalistic/ambient genre now

so personally i prefer the dubstep that takes its rhythms from reggae dub style, rather than ambient

Yeah, Burial is definitely more garage influenced than dub influenced.

I still think his first couple of albums would be considered Dubstep.

There is pretty heavy bass on Burial, and while Untrue moves away from that a bit, it's still prevalent.

I have no idea when his next album is coming out, that track is from Hyperdub's 5 year compilation.

He said he was going to release an EP, but that was over a year ago.

I figure it will be sometime near the end of next year, as he was meant to be doing some other stuff like DJ Kicks.

Shackleton's dope, the album he dropped was probably the best debstep record i've listened to this year. It's more subdued than his previous stuff though.

I isn't available currently, Benji B just played a bunch of unreleased Burial stuff on his show, and that was one of the tracks. The others are all on youtube.

I don't think he plans to put any of that stuff on record (or at least on new records), it's just tracks that he made which he didn't use on Untrue.

All of them are pretty great though, hopefully they come out on some compilation later on, as full versions.
