This film is fucking amazing!! and the funniest film i've ever seen.. let's go through it quickly shall we....

The intro when he talks about himself is brilliant yet funny, "then i use a honey and almond body scrub.." etc

He was trying to listen to the new robert palmer tape but his finiance kept buzzing in his ear.

He was almost on the verge of tears that he wasn't gonna get a good table at the restuarant.

He killed Paul Allen because he had a better business card than him.

There was a moment of sheer panick for Pat Bateman when he realised that Paul Allen's place overlooked the park and was obviously more expencive than his place.

There's loads more that amuse me so much.... but heres another...

Two girls are making out on the sofa, and all he cares about is Whitney Hostons first LP "it's hard to pick a favorite amongst so many great tracks" he actually nearly cryed over it... amazing!

I like the movie a lot.

    Heaps.

But the book is more unrelenting.

That being said, toning down the movie takes nothing away from its point.

(and probably allows for some reviewers to focus on the commentary rather than insignificant stuff. having Mary Harron direct it also added to this i think. Its kind of a shame that thats what it takes for some people to forget about their preconceptions)

It's in my top ten movies.

I don't know what to say, i just like everything in it pretty much.

Well in terms of relation ( if you mean what I think you do )...Pat Bateman is related to Sean Bateman ( James Vander Beek's character in Rules Of Attraction )

Yeah my mum said the book is messy something about a rat......

    Along with Heath Ledger's Joker...

Christian Bale's Pat Bateman is without doubt
One of the greatest performances I have ever seen in a film.

I love this film. Christian Bale did an awesome job. If people think he is one dimensional....think again. Just watch this film.

I couldn't stand christopher bale as batman... but as bateman in American Psycho, he made one of the best actor performance ever. I just couldn't help laughing when he throw that chainsaw. The crazy thing is that this movie is horrible, disturbing, weird and funny at the same time

Is this movie still brilliant? I just watched it for the first time and had to put the dvd counter on because I couldn't wait until it was over.

The line at the beginning that Necro sampled had me grinning.

I absolutely loved this movie when I first saw it. Then I read the book a few years later and it was about a billion times better. Then I watched the movie again and it didn't seem half as good anymore. Still awesome, but it's got absolutely nothing on the book.

And all of Bret Easton Ellis' books have some related and recycled characters.

"Pornography is the orchestrated destruction of women's bodies and souls; rape, battery, incest, and prostitution animate it; dehumanization and sadism characterize it; it is war on women, serial assaults on dignity, identity, and human worth; it is tyranny."
