Thread: So how you gonna say 2005 has been shit?

*yawn* 2005 was boring & predictable for hip hop, nothing I heard made me say damn. I want to hear new artists, innovative shit, everybodys either trying to keep the spirit of the 90s alive but come on its 2005, or formulating their records for airplay. I realized a few week ago standing in a record store, I don't want to pay 15.99 for any of this bullshit so I'm exploring new music, I'll always love pre 97 hip hop tho, but its closed the door to different worlds of music, music that more than drums and a sampled loop, played over and over. Hip Hop needs to evolve musically and 9 out of 10 rappers need to step their lyrical game up too.

Blah blah blah is all I'm reading, 2005 is only going to be shit if you keep focusing on the shitty music that's being release. Stop typing for a second and start listening to artist you never heard of. Just go to ughh.com and listen to some random snippets...expannd youuurrr minddddddd

been on ughh dot fucking com, the majority of the underground is as bad as the mainstream right now, shit ain't evolving. Don't come at me with the condesending bullshit
for real tho whats the last shit you heard that was original and creative, had a new sound? This decade doesn't have a definitive sound like the 80s & 90s did...fuck it

I wasn't comming at you but since you got defensive from what I typed must of hit a nerve. Anyway

Dangerdoom is creative, not classic or superb...but its creative and should be a good listen

AWOL, Madlib's vol. 1 movie scenes lp, raaddrr van lp was good, kanye west lp was good, vordul mega yung world lp was good, militant music (non phixion) mixtape was realllyy goood, and papoose 5 or 6 mixtapes are the shit

but this is the 2000 deal with it why the hell do u want everything to have a definite sound? everything you hear isnt going to be grimey and boom bap so deal with it or try to find some artist that still take it back to the essence or make your own music
