But come on now, the only album I need to pull out is OB4CL which is a fucking masterpiece, name one Premo produced album that changed the game like OB4CL did?

These are my top 2, but I gotta give it to RZA. They've both sorta lost it, but seriously, how many beats can you make without some sounding the same?

I give it to RZA cause of his streak from 93-97, 7 albums of perfect producing. I love Premier and all, but he's never taken an album over like RZA did on OB4CL or LS. I know Premeir has a ton of tracks on various 90's classics, but he hasn't really produced a masterpiece of OB4CL proportions.

I think as a whole, Premier's more consistent, but RZA's streak from 93-97 gives him the edge. If RZA never switched to Bobby Digital, he would be #1 without a doubt.

Rza was good from 93' to 97' .. he did some good productions after that, but premo is the goat man

u can ask a lot of hip hop heads @ allhiphop or another sites, they will say premo is way better than rza (nowadays)

RZA overall wins hands down, even recently he has made some awesome beats but hes losing his touch for his trademark raw sounds

    killarmy- wake up
The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. (Romans 1:18-20)

primo's beats are addictive. i can't go through a day without listening 2 his shit. seriously, i'm not going 2 school in the morning without listening 2 at least a few tracks prod. by premo.

and he's still making bangers. in this year alone he's produced 2 CLASSIC tracks; Cormega - Dirty Game and AZ - The Come Up. these two jointz r amazing, especially when u consider the fact that they're from 05.

i love rza but he hasn't really produced any great hip hop 4 the last few years; but i'm waiting on that cuban linx II shit and the rest of the wu shit he got planned for 06.

    They're completely different animals.
It's impossible to compare them because they deal in different currency. RZA could never do the kind of serious slap and boom NY hip hop that Premier does so well - I don't think that's what RZA is interested in doing anyway; and Primo can't elevate the beat to art the way the Abbott can - put it this way, Premier won't be scoring any films anytime soon (unless they'r hip hop documentaries).
I think it's fair to say that these 2 are on a level that no other producers approach (at least not on a consistent basis), but to debate who's better is like trying to compare The Clash to Sam Cooke. You can talk about who does a better job of accomplishing what they're trying to accomplish with their music, but you can never lose sight of the fact that their goals and the means by which they try and reach those goals are worlds apart.

don't forget hip hop artists aint asking for Rza beats, but they're asking for Premo, this guy is everywhere

nowadays Rza is more for Hollywood

snapple is right about 'return of the crooklyn dodgers'--that's one of the best songs of all time...but Rza is more dynamic. It's too hard to call: they both make hiphop what it is: great! And if either one never existed hip hop would be much less than what it is.
