Thread: What were your first thoughts upon listening to 8 Diagrams?

Default What were your first thoughts upon listening to 8 Diagrams?

I thought to myself; "Rza is really taking a chance with this one." Once I heard it; I realized why Ghostface Killer and Raekwon made such a big deal about the instrumentals. It was okay though. A lot of people though Gun Will Go was too soft but that is actually my favorite. It is ghetto singing; not like other cats rtying to do R and B. The first time my brother heard Heart Gently Weeps; he did not believe that it was a Wu Tang Clan song. My other favorite joint was Rushing Elephants; that joint just makes you want to punch babies.

this site needs a twitter page.

i thought the clan embarrassed themselves by making this album and that it was complete garbage. now i see it as a slightly above average album.

The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. (Romans 1:18-20)

I had been hyped up for a while with the mixtape and Watch Your Mouth and all that, but I wasn't prepared for how spacey it was initially. It grew on me a lot though - not a perfect album, but nowhere near as wack as everyone made it out to be.

loved it at first, simmered over time, still appreciate it though, it's a wu-tang album, why even hate when at least they are still making music, good music at that, not 93-97 music (which is impossible in 09 anyways), but good music

RZA reached way too far with the production. Emcees sounded bored. Dissapointing on many levels.
