Default Bruno Question: Do movies theaters have a set time frame when they pull movies?

Or do they pull movies at thier own discretion? Because me & my sister were trying to see Bruno today (Aug 3rd, movie was out July 10) but NOWHERE practically in the San Jose area except for one far part of town (Shoreline AMC in Mt View) is playing it. I mean I checked every movie theater and Shoreline was it while even older movies are still being shown at these AMC's/Centuries (like Transformers & Up). So do they usually axe movies by end of like 2 months or when they feel like it?

They can do whatever they want.

3 weeks is very short for a movie like that.

Maybe everyone went in the first few weeks.

I think its up to sales. If no one went to see Bruno for a while they take it off. I use the internet to watch movie, saves money. http://www.watch-movies-links.net/

It depends how many ppl go. My theater still has 'The Hangover' and it's been out since June 5th but Year One was out a couple weeks ago and it premiered June 19th.

It's all based on how much revenue the movie is taking in. If it's a small theatre with like maybe one or two screens then movies are generally taken off pretty quickly to make room for newer releases but at larger more mainstream multiplex's the movies will only stay as long as they're making money, two examples of movie that were in theatres for a really long time were Iron Man and Dark Knight.

I think it goes by the first two weeks of $$. Bruno's problem was that it dropped too much in revenue from week 1 to 2. Though that's normal in all movies, Bruno's fall in ticket $$ was much faster than normal. Bruno was a hard movie to promote considering it's content. I asked people at work if they saw it and most gave me a weird look and then a no for an answer. It's a funny ass movie but some people thought this was Brokeback Mountain & were too scared or homophobic to be seen in a theater watching this. Try to get a bootleg copy if you can it's that funny.

it depends on how much money the movie makes. if it doesn't make money then they take it off. if it makes money they keep it longer.

okay now the next person say the exact same thing i said.
