Do you ever use .ca, uk, etc. instead of .com? like if you lived in canada and wanted to go to yahoo, would you type www.yahoo.ca? what is the benefit of doing that? sorry, i am just an ignorant american.

Uhhh, whats the benefit of .com? It's exactly the same, cept one letter shorter...

But I suspect you knew that and this was one of them "funny" threads which leads to "my country is better than yours" pissing contests, and TSA and SKAMPOE posting "go America" pictures. Just a hunch.

say you use google, if i put in google.com.au and then i search google maps, its gunna be straight at australia, plus search results will give you australian sites as a prefrence.

just cuts down search time.

i book mark all my .com.au sites

makes it easier with google maps (which i use alot) because alot of our suburbs and citys have the same name as other countries (specialy u.k.)

like i know there is a Gold Coast in the U.S. somewhere, same as a Southport.
