Capcom vs SNK / Street Fighter Appreciation

are there any other 2d fighting game fans on this site?

im a tekken master but my allegiance is still to the 2d fighters

for the past 4 years ive been playing capcom vs snk over the internet on xbox live..(ranked 400 in the world)

any one else play 2d?

Street Fighter 2 is the best of all time,I used to play that shit till i had blisters.

some of my favorite fighters- I like to go to the arcade(where they still have these games is hard to find) and whoop ass on the kids that are taking everyone else's quarters just to let them know they ain't the shit- I let them win the first round for a dramatic effect and bring my health half way down for the second round before I destroy them on the third with a perfect- although it doesn't alwayz happen that way-

i was just in an arcade last weekend in jersey..(havent been in an arcade in like 5 or 6 years).. they happened to have capcom vs SNk and there happened to be a couple of scrubs playin it.. my eyes lit up! i havent had real live competetion since 1999.. (ever since then its been online only)

i domnated of course without question evens coring a few perfects.. see what i think it is is that there are old school 2d players (like me) and the new school 2d players

the old school 2d players grew up playing street fighter 2 heavily, and then branched out to fatul fury, sam showdown, etc etc) so i have like 15 years experience playing these games and the basically same 2d engine

the new school players grew up on tekken 1 and then learned how to play guilty gear and some other 2d games and dont have the basic "2nd nature" that the old school players have

I hear you on that- there's certain timing in the moves and animations that some of these katz can't grasp- Street fighter 2 had some serious competion on the reservation and in corner stores, arcades, and movie theatres in Denver- it's hard to find a machine these dayz though

i;m trying to get as much capcom games I can not that big of fan of snk.I dont really like 3d fighting games so i dont have power stone or rival schools.

No doubt about that. I remember my first time playing Street Fighter 2. I was in the 5th grade and my friends invited me to the corner store to play with them. They taught me how to play and I was down with Blanka. I was killin em after a while. My mom would give me like 5 dollars a day and I wouldn't even buy lunch with it. I'd save it all to blow of Street Fighter.
