AI was the worst fit for that team. The Pistons were all about the perfection of their system and no one in the league could run it better than Billups because they had been together for so long.

To me, Iverson not being able to succeed with the Nuggets should have told Detroit this, but ultimately, I think Dumars knew that the Pistons even with Chauncey probably could not beat the Cavs or Boston in a playoff series so he made on last effort and cleared cap space in the process.

AI isnt working out, but the cap space has been cleared.

I think detroit made a big mistake on letting Big Ben go and then C Billups. If they would of kept the same roster prob would of have more titles on they belt. But after those trades they been down the hill and i aint talking about Grant lol. Detroit is boring to watch.

He is technically a free agent, but has said that he is retired.

Very few NBA players officially write a letter to the league to declare themselves retired.

That only happens if they retire while still under contract.

People have "retired" and come back before. I think PJ will probably stay retired, but I still hold out a little hope he will come back and play with boston again.
