i like how animated ghost gets ("baseheads taste my shit like starks whats the hell's in there?") and rae delivers a nice story (better than his verses on HGW and yolanda).

im not a big fan of ghost on structured songs like thisx (and wu ooh). i didnt like this verses but hes better when its loose idk how to describe it. it takes something away from what he does. whenever ghost got a hot verses they should just let him takeover the track howevr. like hes does on The W (jah world, i cant go to sleep) alot, SC, and most of other shit in the 90's.

you know putting ghost and shit on ok 1 verse, hook, 1 verse, hook, 1 verse, hook, end. its just a bit disrespectul to his talents.

he doesnt need hooks at all like that. hooks are ok, soul controller good example, but he dont need em. Look at tracks like Wise, Wisdom Body whatevr, just let him style on it. Dont cage him in with structures and shit/ Thats part of where Wu Ooh went wrong, and why it isnt classic material.

This particular hook was garbo, like pretty much anything a Theordore Unit member has ever done, but I thought the track was solid overall, and Rae sounded really good.

I see what you're saying about a free-form ghost, but I liked his flow a lot on this one as well.

and it's ok if a song has a hook. clipse of doom is one of ghost's illest freestyle cuts from recent years and that has trife on the hook. i actually really like that hook too. it's mesmerizing. i guess while i'm at it i might as well throw in another great track from wally champ

I have nothing against hooks, but I hate everything about theodore except the occasional cappa verse.

I like ghost with a classic rnb/soul sample for a hook/interlude

Walk Around, Motherless Child, Big Girl, come to mind immediately.

My favorite thing about ghosts is the soul he brings to the game, and I think the classic rnb compliments that shit the best.

That is why Ironman is still one of my favorite albums of any genre. Because of all that soul.

I mean its not like anyone actually likes them, so why are they getting valued airtime on Ghostface Killah songs? Why are they there lol? I know Ghost needs weedcarriers now at his age especially, but actually putting them on songs is absurd.

Trife isn't even that bad, but I hate his flow and the sound of his voice. I remember when I first heard about theodore, I was like "oh shit, if this is ghost's handpicked crew, I bet each one of them must bring something fresh to the table. I can't wait to see what theyre about"

You've got one of the most skilled, soulful, unique rappers ever, and he chooses to surround himself with the most generic crew ever.

Ghost can do whatever he wants, but how did he find them? I mean, were ghost and shawn wiggs friends back in the day??

And I understnad him letting his kid in, and I kind of like that 1 cut where they go back and forth, but I just don't get it.

trife isn't all that interesting but he has a certain style and is a competent rapper. never gonna be a superstar but better than a lot of second tier rappers.

solomon childs has a scary voice and is pretty good on hooks. he's a role player.

after slang prostitution came out without a single theodore member on it, i'm pretty sure we can say he's not really part of the group.

shawn wigs sucks but i don't get caught up in it as much as other people do on this site. actually i remember around the time SC and the w came out how people were always complaining that cappa ruined every song, the same way people complain about wigs... as if it was impossible to enjoy the song just because cappa rhymed in his sloppy off beat style for a few bars. it was stupid...

anyway, ghost probably thinks he's doing a charitable thing by hooking his friends up with a verse or two on his album. they haven't really been too prevalent on his albums aside from more fish, which is excusable given the nature of the album.

every album, even a lot of the classics, has a few uninspired verses but as long as the music is good and there's enough great material on the rest of the disc then it shouldn't detract from the album.

i don't know what the deal is with that track -- when it was written, who produced the beat -- but if rae and ghost didn't take those same verses and rerecord them for linx 2 then they fucked up.

i cannot believe they let possibly their best all-time back n forth story track be relegated to a mixtape.

it's insane...
