i dunno you must be the consumer who doesn't expect an average artist to think outside the box. The New Danger imo, is a classic MOS DEF Album. he wasn't afraid to try new things. I really appreciated that. If you were just to listen to the points he was making on the album.... the album doesn't fall short at all... the production was great.. and it's a shame that even though this isn't a full hip-hop album... it definitely shit's on half the albums that came out that year.... i dunno i think u just need to reevaluate the album.... classic song : 13 sunshine. you tell me that's not dope.

When I first heard new danger i absolutely hated it, just because I expected another classic album in the style of black star and black on both sides, two of my favorite albums ever. It did grow on me some though. Boogieman song is one of my favorite mos songs ever and sunshine is dope, still doesn't hold up at all next to his previous work though. a lot of the black jack johnson stuff straight up doesn't work. i'd give it a 7/10 just because he's capable of so much better.

WTF
.... btw...im one of the biggest mos fans i know, and even i think he wasted time on ND, not that it sucked..but some tracks hes just lettin the beat play and shit. Black on both sides=trying new things, and still killin it lyrically

i thought it was way underrated, there's some good music though
people would respond better to it now, i think, at the time most of the audience wasn't prepared for experimentation. |
