They weren't saying Avatar lost cause of how much it cost. They were saying it lost because Hurt Locker had actual people in the movie and not a bunch of computer graphics.
Also, lol @ Ghostlaced and others admitting that they never saw Hurt Locker, but saying that it definitely shouldn't have won best film. How can you say a movie shouldn't win a certain award, when you never even seen it? Knuckleheads. ha ha Also, congrats to Transformers 2 for winning the Snazzies award for worst picture of 2009, and also for winning a bunch of other worst of categories.

I told you so many times, that movie was a giant piece of shit...but I guess that was just me expressing my opinion right?, which holds no weight right? Let me ask you a question that I already know the answer to. Have you ever seen Dances with Wolves? Don't lie. |

Yes, I've seen Dancing with the Wolves several times. I've have The Last Samurai staring Tom Cruise and District 9 as well. Those movies are very similar to Avatar. You say that Avatar is a rip off of Dancing with the Wolves. That's how you see it. I can't change it and I'm not upset. This whole argument has been about who's opinion has more weight, which is kind of silly, in my opinion. People will agree and disagree on certain discusses and topics. If someone disagrees with you, it's what that person believes. How can I be upset with someone who disagrees with me? People expressing opinions on what they think is right or wrong is a good thing to me. It's like the round table on Meet the Press. It's very interesting. Dancing with the Wolves is a great movie, by the way. |

He actually believes these things he's saying haha. Anyway, Oscars was the usual deal. One or two worthy winners, and a heap of mediocre to bad winners. Hurt Locker was a decent film, i mean, at least Avatar didn't win. But there were a lot of of better films last year. Not many of them had the kind of sappy tone that is a prerequisite to winning an Oscar though. Good to see Christoph Waltz win, he was terrific in Inglorious Basterds. A Prophet was easily the best foreign film (not that i've seen the film that won actually, i've seen 2 of the other nominees) by virtue of the fact that it was easily the best film of last year. Maybe this Argentinian film is actually better, although i really doubt it. Odds are, it's some overly sentimental film chronicling familial relations.

I'm going to watch Precious tonight, finally. I hope it is as good as people say that it is.
