as opposed to Shia, for example, Sunni doesn't really have hierarchies (i.e., Ayatollah). Shia believe the Prophet Muhammad chose a successor, but Sunni don't believe it. they're both very similar, but Sunni is more evolving and liberal I guess. Sufism, on the other hand, is all about mysticism. Sunnis are the highest population of muslims, followed by Shia.

unlike christians, who fucked up their own religion by coming up with MILLIONS of sects and denominations, Islam really only has 3 main sects, and they were developed soon after after Muhammad's death. no "protestant reformation" bullshit
