Well for me i've been using photoshop CS4 for a few years now, but the latest version CS5 is good also. Plus when you decide on which version you are going to use, i'll point you in the right direction to get some of the extras that can be added to either version. Here is an example of what i did on my last mixtape.

Just being honest, all of the versions are similar. I've been flipping shit since photoshop 7. so I'd just use anything i can get my hands on..
I actually like to use the older versions better then the new ones...

its all on what you are comfortable with^ i have a tablet, but for me it takes long to get used to, so i jus use my hands on the track pade

Anything from CS2 and up will let your average designer do whatever they want.
I personally use CS5 though. |
