If you believe Inspectah Deck is going to retire, you're an idiot.
And that includes Inspectah Deck. Rappers don't retire. They die or become irrelevant. But if Inspectah Deck needs to pull a Jay-Z and pretend to be retiring to put out a good album, so be it. The Movement & The Manifesto were not good. And Uncontrollable Substance was just okay. Let's get a whole album like "A Lil Story." |

deck is a really dope rapper. if he'd kept putting out mixtapes like 'resident patient' he'd have a big enough following to not have to make bullshit claims. hes nice with it. he has a perfect voice and rhyme style, just check how many times premo scratched his lines.

If the man wants to pursue a different career path, why not let him? Rap isnt big to a man in his early 40's. He's annoyed with the lack of support from his WU FANS, another reason hes retiring.
http://conspiracyworldwide.podomatic...09_14_19-08_00 Part 2 of this he states he will ONLY continue to make albums beyond Rebellion IF his fans show support to Manifesto AND Rebellion. Basically, show the man love currently by buying Manifesto, make sure Rebellion SELLS and Deck will not retire. |

/\ CL2 destroys that argument. Rae proved in 2009 that underground hiphop can still sell and push units even topping mainstream artits (Jay/iTunes). If Rae can do it, so can Deck with Rebellion

So Rae promoted his album? So what? You think everyone who bought CLII has been following its development since '05?
How long has Deck been talking about Rebellion? This is apples to apples right here. Almost the same exact situation. Only Rae was cranking out quality mixtapes, dropping quality guest verses, and basically just giving the fans a bunch of quality music to rebuild his rep. How does Deck prepare the world for Rebellion?

I'm pretty sure 7/10 people who copped CLII were following Rae since he announced it in 04'-05', the other 3/10 people came around when he started dropping heat, mixtape after mixtape, if you have 4 years to promote your album you better sell good. Stop the excuses. Ya'll niggaz DONT buy the records plain and simple. First niggaz to say "support real hip-hop" though....lol fuck outta here

"Ummmmm NO."
Ummm...why not if Rae can? True Decks only been talking about the Rebellion since maybe mid 2009, but we only know 2012 is the release YEAR for Rebellion. Whos to say he wont do what Rae did? Continuous tweeks. He can drop mixtapes in between just like Rae and build a buzz for himself. This is the album the Wu fans want. Plus considering some of the guests he wants (E40, Jada, Nas, Snoop) well see how long that takes him to catch verses from them. Who knows, there could be many delays to this |

Thing with Deck is that he never really got his solo stuff going so never really developed his solo persona like the others did e.g. Rae cemented his legendary status with his solo style, Meth and Rza and Ghost showed their early styles and then showed they could do many styles.
Deck never really got that and his interview sounds like he realises that. Still legendery on Wu albums though.

Deck doesn't have the Clientele like some of the other Wu members, so i can see why he would stop. Hes hardly making any money back on his investments. Deck still can rap better than 95% of people in rap. Hopefully he sticks to guest appearances, Wu albums and shows.
