Don't know. These films don't even fit the usual Hollywood exuses for remakes (needing to update for a modern audience or needing to make it for an English speaking audience).

Agreed. The Mummy was good, the sequels killed it. So not really looking forward to the remake.

I quite liked Van Helsing, I think they could pull off something cool with the idea.

this will only be good if

they make akhenaton, the good, helpful person that he was, he did so much for his culture and civilisation, but in this basterdisation of a movie, where stupid people base reality off of fiction, will never look into the good that was done by the said man, instead they will be like ughh, he was evil? cos he was evil in the mummy.

duringthe premier the real akhenaton should rise up, and destroy the city that its being played in.. might aswell basterdise his name properly

I haven't seen the Mummy but Van Helsing was poorly executed.

So were Hulk (2003), Spider-Man 3.

They all have potential and that's why they deserve(d) a reboot.

I liked The Mummy and thought Van Helsing was aight. Not really souped up for a reboot of either, but we'll see how it turns out.
