Miami would have to get incredibly lucky to land Chris Kaman and Ray Allen. I think Jason Terry/Marcus Canny is more realistic.

And the Celtics were without Bradley and Jeff Green. Not to mention Pierce and Allen were playing injured. And they still took the Heat to 7.

Even if the Celtics lose a player or two off their main roster, it's not like they are in a rebuilding stage. They will probably lose Ray Allen, and possibly one other main player. Though they would be looking to make nice additions to the squad too. And they have some very promising younger players.

I don't know why they would want to get rid of Garnett, as he was one of the best players in the playoffs and is still solid. The Celtics had the most injuries of any team in the playoffs, and were still one game from the finals.

everyone is gonna upgrade. including the heat. confidence is a motherucker. they got the monkey off their back by winning this one.

they sleepwalked through the series with the pacers and the celtics and it nearly got them bounced. lebron was playing by himself in both of those series. they were able to oust the thunder in 5 due to the rest of the team stepping up and making plays to give lebron some fucking help.

at the end of the day, this is a team game. always has been, always will be.

Miami will have to upgrade in confidence more than their roster cause...they simply don't have the cap space.

Barring injuries though, Miami will be there again. The East is so pathetically weak that it's not even funny. DRose won't be back until late next year, if at all. And they still have no offense. NYK is never going to be a contender with Melo as their #1. Indy may have a shot, but if George becomes a true star, a big if. And Boston remains a question mark at the moment.

In the West, the only scenarios are if:
1)Dwill goes to Dallas.
2)BG takes his game to another level, which will elevate the Clips to contender status.

Lakers and Spurs are too old. So as of RIGHT NOW, I say it's Heat v. OKC again. And it will be even more exciting. Durant/WB will be better. Lebron will be better. This is the new rivalry.

Agreed. This is exactly why I thought OKC would win it because they were the superior 3pt shooting team. I would've never thought Miami could shoot lights out in the Finals considering how poorly they shot from downtown the previous 3 series.

The Heat struggle v. teams that play discipline ball, defense, and rebound. That's why they (esp. Lebron) usually struggles v. Boston. OKC plays perfectly into the Heat's hands. Loves to run, loves to iso, loves to get quick offense. Miami's D feasts off of that. It was just the perfect matchup. OKC will learn from this.

I don't think Duncan will retire yet, he could still get another title. He has to be really disappointed after these playoffs.

Deron Williams said there are only two possible teams, the Nets or Mavericks. So look for him to go to the Mavericks since the Nets are horrible and will be for a while.

The Clippers aren't on the Lakers or Spurs level yet. The Grizzlies are still a more talented team also.

Wtf? I'll give you the Spurs, but the Lakers? The Clippers were one game away from winning that division their first year together of a lockout season. And before Chauncey Billups season ending injury, the Clips had the 2nd best record in the Western Conference. With a actual full offseason to mesh, LAC WILL be better than the Lakers next season.

The Grizzlies are still a more talented team also.

Players do want to play for a title contender like Miami and make take a small discount to go there, but you really won't have multiple guys who can otherwise make $7 million or $10 million a year choosing to play in Miami for $1 million to $3 million. Also, guys who do take such a discount are generally older and may well experience a significant dropoff even from their 2011-12 level of play. The "ringchaser " effect is probably overstated. Guys still care about other things, like money, minutes, etc.
