I rarely post on this site but felt compelled to post on here. I agree with the Sparrow character. I must say as Cilvaringz appears to take his craft and religion very seriously; and; has expereienced racism being a Morrocan - I am very disappointed in what I read from him. His experiences have obviously not broadened his understanding of the world.

I think most posters on here are really trying to trivialise an argument which I imagine they don't really understand. They may be doing this with the best intentions i.e to out a fire which could burn out of control on this message board. However the "genie has been let out of the bottle it is important that it is addressed approprately." I aim to do this with this post.

Posters seem to assume that there shoud be blanket policy in the use of the word. Either no one says it or everybody says it. This is not realistic and ironically does not reflect the true diversity of opinion and experience of many different people. To give an example, most posters on this site would not swear or cuss there grandparents using profanity. We understand the cultural context of the situation and would tone down their language. This is because we d not want to cause offence to them. A similar context is the workplace. Therefore we are well aware of the audience that is in front of us and tailor our behaviour accordingly.

The issue I have with Cilvarings is that the lack of understanding shown to a poster who had raised a concern to him. This poster like me is a fan of the music. OUr opinions count. The reason why he is able to use the word in "COmpton" is because the context is different. Hello most of us on here are European. Also it does not matter that he is from Morrocco. The usage of the word came via Afriacn Americans not Africans per se. Furthermore I understand that there are north Africans that may not consider themselves the same as Southern africans.

To summarise Cilvarings is in a position where he needs to understand that with his fame unfortunately comes responsibility. He may like some of the responsibilities but some of them he will inherit. This is something that other non african american rappers have grown to understand. My issue is that it is clear from the TONE Cilaringz posts that he does not appreaciate that someone may feel offended and almost suggests that the other person should get over it.

It is this point which will ultimately perpetuate racism because this in ironically shows alack of cultural and contextual understanding not the usage of the word itself. I am sure that if someone had misrepresented his national or religious beliefs in the same way then he would understand. This is meant to be criticism but constructive criticism. As a fan of Wu tang I respect the man's work in bringing us quality music. This criticism is stated with love and not disrespect.

there's also a thing called not being a dick 101. the affiliates are just as much a part of this album (if not more) so why not include them in the marketing promotion? I don't think cilva is looking to rape the wu-tang name to make a dollar with this project so why not mention all features and promote it that way?
