So how is Fishscale doing, is the buzz dead already or is it still on its way to Gold? I predicted it to ship gold by the end of the summer i assume it didn't make that deadline.

i don't consider these figures a failure.

in this day of booty shakin, ying yang, and laffy taffy, for fishcale to move 250k in a month or two is a major achievement.

i think we've been conditioned to acceptin gold and platinum as the norm

but 250,000 records sold, in a month or two. that's 250k persons who actually purchased the album. shit by any standard that's a great achievement

yeah definitely, that is a good outlook. the only records that go gold or plat nowadays are ones with huge hit singles or videos, ghost had neither.

RZA's business practices have been targeted as one of the reasons wu-tang's star faded. i wouldn't necessarily disagree. if meth did go the indie route there are better places to go than with RZA

if you're like masta killa and you're on a no name label with no promotion and arguably the most osbscure member in the wu-tang clan, 250k is a major achievement.

if you're like ghostface and are on a major label, are a former gold and platinum selling artist, have been all over mixtapes, have gotten decent promotion, all sorts of critical acclaim, and have been making cheesy radio singles to bring in more fans, 250k is a failure.

yeah but ghost hasn't released a gold-selling album since 2000. so after 6 years of not going gold, 250k is good.

ghost signed on to def jam to revive himself commercially and it didnt happen. thats why he was pissed off in interviews around when this album dropped.

that still doesnt mean he is incapable of making albums that are platinum /gold material

because fishscale was a damn good album
