Why did RZA abandon Poetic?

I also distinctly remember RzA saying that once Prince Paul left, Gee Street gave him complete rights of Gravediggaz and RzA boasted that it was because of him that Gravediggaz still recorded. He stated he had a 18 point deal to record Bobby Digital and had the sole choice to scrap Gravediggaz, he says he chose to make another record. My point is, he made such a big deal about it, its almost as if he was developing a bad relationship with the crew. I'll try and find the article.

I kind makes one think that there is something going on backstage. It doesn't seem to be a "oh ya Rza's that nigga, its all good", its more like "I don't know where Rza is at, Prince paul loved us, but RzA is absent"

I personally think there was no "real friendship" going on, and if you were to ask Rza his feeling towards the Gravediggaz it would end in "its nothing personal, its just business"

all this about him being a businessman and being human is a garbage excuse for not checkin for your friend who is on the verge of death. Rza being a businessman has also made him a wealthy man and he has the time and the resources to go see his friend. no one is asking him to go and live with the guy. just go see him at the hospital a few times a month or give the guy a call and check up on him.

if it is true that Rza never went to see or contact poetic there are only three conclusions to draw. Rza is a prick, there was never a friendship at all it was strictly business, or there was a HUGE fallout between Rza and poetic.

Your post makes exceptional sense to me in summarising what we all gather from the various posts so far. Man, I really hope its the third one, it's got to be. One is terrible and two is okay but still... unsettling.

RZA threw a concert with some Wu-Fam to help pay for Poetic's medical bills. And nobody knows what happened between that interview and Poetic's death, so just leave it.

An ooooold article that was released sometime after Poetic died. It basically talked about his last few days and how his friends had tried to make it easier for him and his family.
