Before that time (see Velikovski) there was a time remembered in human tradition, when the moon was smaller (ie because it was a planet in orbit around the sun and not around Earth) or when the moon did not exist as a satellite of earth. The moon and the dragon are often interchangeable.

The Eagle permeates so much of our daily lives through symbolism, and I could fill 10 pages with examples, but I think that most people would immediately agree on this, and so I’ll skip right over pointing out the obvious.

Instead I’d like to focus more on who this Eagle is, and what he means.

I’d like to start by looking at the animal. There was a time where, in England, "EAGLE" referred specifically to the Golden Eagle. So, although the Eagle that floods the symbolism in America is supposedly the Bald Eagle, I feel as though the very source of Eagle symbolism comes from the Golden Eagle, starting with Aetos Dios – which I will come to later a little further down.

The Eagle is mainly an Old World animal, and only two species appear in North America; the Bald Eagle and the Golden Eagle. The scientific name for the Golden Eagle is Aquila Chrysaetos. (Christ?)

Symbolism is mostly shown through artistic visuals, and for that reason I want to demonstrate how similar, in shape, these two BIRDS OF PREY are;

I know that we are told that it’s the BALD EAGLE in American symbolism, but based on all the other lies that we’ve been told, and all the secrets that are kept from us, I’m not inclined to take their word for it. I’d like to explore the possibility that Eagle symbolism is based on the GOLDEN EAGLE.

Let’s start with the gods, shall we? Zeus had an immortal Golden Eagle as a companion. There are a few different versions of the story, but they all agree that the Eagle did exist (and still does). The story goes that there once was a very popular mortal king by the name of Periphas (King of Attica) that was transformed into a Golden Eagle by Zeus. Depending on whose version you believe, the motive ranges from jealousy (of Periphas by Zeus), to a reward.

I don’t see how changing a righteous and popular king into an Eagle, subservient to Zeus, can be considered a reward. So, I’m intuitively going to go with the version that Zeus was jealous of Perhiphos, and changed him into an Eagle known as Aetos Dios. I do believe that Zeus became fond of this bird and later gave him certain honors, which include giving him a place amongst the stars in the constellation Aquilla.

Another dubious honor bestowed upon Aestos Dios, by Zeus, was to guard the Sacred Sceptre.

The sceptre is such an ancient symbol and still exists to this day. A sceptre is an ornamental staff, and symbolizes ruling monarchy (self proclaimed gods).

At some point the Eagle became sceptre.

Quote:
… when Zeus was beginning warfare against the Titani, ie the sons of Titan, brother of Kronos (Saturn), and had sacrificed to Ouranos (Heaven), he saw an eagle fly nearby as a favourable omen for victory. In return for this happy omen, and particularly because it was indeed followed by victory, he put a golden eagle on his war standards and dedicated it as a protection for his valour." - Greek Lyric II Anacreon Frag 505d (from Fulgentius, Mythologies)

There is definitely a connection between the eagle and the serpent throughout.

The Eagle Nebula is within the Serpens constellation.

The staff symbolism can also be seen with the winged staff, or caduceus, that also has snakes intertwined around it.

Now, the staff symbolism can be seen from two sources with the greeks. One is Asclepius and the other Hermes.

Here is some information that I found while doing some research on all of this...

Quote:
The Greeks identified him as Asclepius, the god of medicine. Asclepius was the son of Apollo and Coronis (although some say that his mother was Arsinoë). The story goes that Coronis two-timed Apollo by sleeping with a mortal, Ischys, while she was pregnant by Apollo. A crow brought Apollo the unwelcome news, but instead of the expected reward the crow, which until then had been snow-white, was cursed by Apollo and turned black.

In a rage of jealousy, Apollo shot Coronis with an arrow. Rather than see his child perish with her, Apollo snatched the unborn baby from its mother’s womb as the flames of the funeral pyre engulfed her, and took the infant to Chiron, the wise centaur (represented in the sky by the constellation Centaurus).

Chiron raised Asclepius as his own son, teaching him the arts of healing and hunting. Asclepius became so skilled in medicine that not only could he save lives, he could also raise the dead. On one occasion in Crete, Glaucus, the young son of King Minos, fell into jar of honey and drowned while at play. As Asclepius contemplated the body of Glaucus, a snake slithered towards it. He killed the snake with his staff; then another snake came along with a herb in its mouth and placed it on the body of the dead snake, which magically returned to life. Asclepius took the same herb and laid it on the body of Glaucus, who too was magically resurrected. (Robert Graves suggests that the herb was mistletoe, which the ancients thought had great regenerative properties, but perhaps it was actually willow bark, the source of salicylic acid, the active ingredient in aspirin.) Because of this incident, says Hyginus, Ophiuchus is shown in the sky holding a snake, which became the symbol of healing from the fact that snakes shed their skin every year and are thus seemingly reborn.
Quote:
Side Note: In Greek mythology, Minos (in Greek Μίνως, genitive Μίνωος) was a mythical king of the island of Crete, son of Zeus and Europa. After his death, Minos became a judge of the dead in Hades. The Minoan civilization has been named after him. By his wife, Pasiphaë, he fathered Ariadne, Androgeus, Deucalion, Phaedra, Glaucus, Catreus, Acacallis, and many others.
Others, though, say that Asclepius received from the goddess Athene the blood of Medusa the Gorgon. The blood that flowed from the veins on her left side was a poison, but the blood from the right side could raise the dead.

Someone else supposedly resurrected by Asclepius was Hippolytus, son of Theseus, who died when he was thrown from his chariot (some identify him with the constellation Auriga, the Charioteer). Reaching for his healing herbs, Asclepius touched the youth’s chest three times, uttering healing words, and Hippolytus raised his head.

Hades, god of the Underworld, began to realize that the flow of dead souls into his domain would soon dry up if this technique became widely known. He complained to his brother god Zeus who struck down Asclepius with a thunderbolt. Apollo was outraged at this harsh treatment of his son and retaliated by killing the three Cyclopes who forged Zeus’ thunderbolts. To mollify Apollo, Zeus made Asclepius immortal (in the circumstances he could hardly bring him back to life again) and set him among the stars as the constellation Ophiuchus.

The brightest star in Ophiuchus is second-magnitude Alpha Ophiuchi, called Rasalhague from the Arabic meaning ‘the head of the serpent collector’. Beta Ophiuchi is called Cebalrai from the Arabic for ‘the shepherd’s dog’; the Arabs visualized a shepherd (the star Alpha Ophiuchi) along with his dog and some sheep in this area.

Delta and Epsilon Ophiuchi are called Yed Prior and Yed Posterior. These are compound names, formed from the Arabic al-yad, meaning ‘hand’, with the Latin words Prior and Posterior added to give names meaning the ‘leading’ and ‘following’ part of the hand.

[quote]Apollo

Side Note: Leto - In the Olympian scheme of things, Zeus is the father of her twins, Apollo and Artemis, the Letoides.

In Roman mythology her equivalent, as mother of Apollo and Diana, is Latona.
.....As the patron of Delphi ("Pythian Apollo"), Apollo was an oracular god. He was the prophetic deity of the Delphic Oracle.....

Quote:
Side Note: The name of the Pythia derived from Pytho, which in myth was the original name of Delphi. The Greeks derived this place-name from the verb pythein (πύθειν, "to rot"), used of the decomposition of the body of the monstrous serpent Python after she was slain by Apollo.[
.....Apollo also had dominion over colonists, over medicine (mediated through his son Asclepius).....

.....Apollo is known in Greek-influenced Etruscan mythology as Apulu. In Roman mythology he is known as Apollo and increasingly, especially during the third century BC, as Apollo Helios he became identified with Sol, the Sun. In Hellenistic times, Apollo became conflated with Helios, god of the sun, and his sister similarly equated with Selene, goddess of the moon.....

.....Animals sacred to Apollo included.....griffins, mythical eagle-lion hybrids of Eastern origin.....

.....Apollo, the eternal beardless kouros himself, had the most prominent male relationships of all the Greek Gods. That was to be expected from a god who was god of the palaestra, the athletic gathering place for youth who all competed in the nude, a god said to represent the ideal educator and therefore the ideal erastes, or lover of a boy (Sergent, p.102). All his lovers were younger than him, in the style of the Greek pederastic relationships of the time.....

Apollo and the birth of Hermes

Hermes was born on Mount Cyllene in Arcadia. The story is told in the Homeric Hymn to Hermes. His mother, Maia, had been secretly impregnated by Zeus. Maia wrapped the infant in blankets but Hermes escaped while she was asleep. Hermes ran to Thessaly, where Apollo was grazing his cattle. The infant Hermes stole a number of his cows and took them to a cave in the woods near Pylos, covering their tracks. In the cave, he found a tortoise and killed it, then removed the insides. He used one of the cow's intestines and the tortoise shell and made the first lyre. Apollo complained to Maia that her son had stolen his cattle, but Hermes had already replaced himself in the blankets she had wrapped him in, so Maia refused to believe Apollo's claim. Zeus intervened and, claiming to have seen the events, sided with Apollo. Hermes then began to play music on the lyre he had invented. Apollo, a god of music, fell in love with the instrument and offered to allow exchange of the cattle for the lyre. Hence, Apollo became a master of the lyre and Hermes invented a kind of pipes-instrument called a syrinx.

Later, Apollo exchanged a caduceus for a syrinx from Hermes.

Side Note: Maia in Greek mythology, was the eldest of the Pleiades.....She and her sisters were pursued by Orion

And of course, we have the connection with the Egyptian God Thoth...

Quote:
Thoth

.....His chief shrine was at Khemennu, where he was the head of the local company of gods, later renamed Hermopolis by the Greeks (in reference to him through the Greeks' interpretation that he was the same as Hermes) and Eshmûnên by the Arabs.....

.....He was considered the heart and tongue of Ra as well as the means by which Ra's will was translated into speech. He has also been likened to the Logos of Plato and the mind of God. (see The All) In the Egyptian mythology, he has played many vital and prominent roles, including being one of the two gods (the other being Ma'at) who stood on either side of Ra's boat. He has further been involved in arbitration, magic, writing, science, and the judging of the dead.....
Quote:
Side Note: The All (also called The One, The Absolute, The Great One, The Creator, The Supreme Mind, The Supreme Good, The Father, and The Universal Mother) is the Hermetic or panentheistic view of God, which is that everything that is, or at least that can be experienced, collectively makes up The All. One Hermetic maxim states, "While All is in The All, it is equally true that The All is in All." The All can also seen to be hermaphroditic, possessing both masculine and feminine qualities in equal part .....

.....In 1975, Summum, an esoteric organization whose philosophy also includes the natural principles described in The Kybalion , put forth an explanation behind The All's existence and claims the explanation came from "Summa Individuals" , beings who appear to be what The Kybalion describes as "Unseen Divinities" that intervene and assist with human affairs.....
.....Thoth was also known by specific aspects of himself, for instance the moon god A'ah-Djehuty, representing the moon for the entire month.....

.....Further, the Greeks related Thoth to their god Hermes due to his similar attributes and functions. One of Thoth 's titles, "Three times great, great" (see Titles) was translated to the Greek τρισμεγιστος (Trismegistos) making Hermes Trismegistus.....

.....E. A. Wallis Budge, however, thought Egyptian religion to be primarily monotheistic where all the gods and goddesses were aspects of the God Ra, similar to the Trinity in Christianity and devas in Hinduism. In this view, Thoth would be the aspect of Ra which the Egyptian mind would relate to the heart and tongue.....

.....Thoth has played a prominent role in many of the Egyptian myths. Displaying his role as arbitrator, he had overseen the three epic battles between good and evil.....

.....Thoth was also prominent in the Osiris myth, being of great aid to Isis. After Isis gathered together the pieces of Osiris' dismembered body, he gave her the words to resurrect him so she could be impregnated and bring forth Horus, named for his uncle. When Horus was slain, Thoth gave the formulae to resurrect him as well. Similar to God speaking the words to create the heavens and Earth in Judeo-Christian mythology, Thoth, being the god who always speaks the words that fulfill the wishes of Ra, spoke the words that created the heavens and Earth in Egyptian mythology.....

.....Thoth, like many Egyptian gods and nobility, held many titles. Among these were "Scribe of Ma'at in the Company of the Gods", "Lord of Ma'at", "Lord of Divine Words", "Judge of the Two Combatant Gods", "Judge of the Rekhekhui, the pacifier of the Gods, who Dwelleth in Unnu, the Great God in the Temple of Abtiti", "Twice Great", "Thrice Great", and "Three Times Great, Great".....

For further reading on Thoth, here is a link that shows other connections to the ouroboros, Quetzalcoatl, Viracocha, Nimrod, etc. There is also a link to "The Emerald Tablets of Thoth" at the bottom of the page...

http://www.crystalinks.com/thoth.html

So, Asclepius/Hermes/Thoth, are the same representation of Ophiuchus, and Ophiuchus is positioned in the Serpens constellation, which consists of Caput Draconis and Cauda Draconis, who are possibly the two combatants in "The War of the Gods".

Pradosham The 13th moon:

Perspective from the Hindus and the Pleidians
August 5th 2006

For some years we have been observing the 13th moon as a window of time to reverse our karma. The Hindu tradition has it that Lord Siva wanted to give a break to the humans as well as Gods from karmic suffering. He selected the 13th moon sunset time (1 ½ hour prior to sunset to do the job. The story says during this time Siva drank poison and as a result his throat became blue. The mythology is so profound. Our throat is the doorway that separates spirit and matter. Our life energy is in the throat. Our karma both individual and collective is in the throat. The expression Adam’s apple has a reference to the secret of the throat. Chanting of a mantra like ‘Tiraneelakantam’ during the 13th moon is beneficial to remove your karma.

Now let us see what the Pleidians have to say about number 13. The Pleidians talk about the 13 month lunar calendar is more powerful. “Contemplating the number 13 as a hidden mystery will bring an understanding of what influences you. Although 13 has been considered a number of ill luck and evil, if you search you will find that it holds a very powerful key for decoding the consciousness of humankind” (p 188 Family of Light, Barbara Marciniak).

Repeating the mantra 'Tiru Neela Kantam' on the 13th moon will open up a new life for you. Also pay attention to the number 13 as well and what it does for you in your day to day life. Thirteen means a new beginning. Most people return to work at the 13th hour after lunch break. Hence between 1:00PM and 2:00PM is renewal of life. Similarly the day changes at 1:00AM which is the 13th hour. “The ruling families on your planet know the significance of the number thirteen and steer you away from its use. Convincing you that it is the number of ill luck or evil. However it is a key to the doorway of the mystery of power” (pg 191 One Family of Light).

Why don't you meditate during 1:00AM and the 13th hour, on the 13th day of the month or on a pradosham day? On a daily basis say number 13 thirteen times.

Quote:
Fixed star: VEGA Wega
Constellation: Alpha Lyra
Longitude 1900: 13CAP55. Longitude 2000: 15CAP19.
Declination 1900: +38.41'. Declination 2000: +38.47'.
Right ascension: 18h36m. Latitude: +61.44'.
Spectral class: A1. Magnitude: 0.03.
Suggested orb: 1 deg. approx. Planetary nature: Ven-Mer

History of the star: A pale sapphire star in the Lyre Lyra. Vega from Arabic Al-Waqi' (1), "The stooping" eagle or "The swooping Vulture", and is often referred to as "The Vulture Star", "The Sitting Vulture", "The Falling Grype" and figured with upturned head with a lyre in its beak from the story of Orpheus [who might be described as the prototype of our modern pop-star] who was torn apart by the Maenads, raving mad-women [or fans], they cast the lyre in the river. Jupiter sent a vulture to scoop it out of the river and then placed it in the sky.

Alpha is Wega, less correctly Vega. Waghi, Vuega vel Vagieh, Veka are variations.

Greek titles for it became Allore, Alahore, and Alohore - (?).

Among Latin writers it was Lyra as often the alpha star or lucida takes on the name of the constellation. Flamsteed's had Testa fulgida dicta Lyra; Latin Fidis and Fides "lyre", "string" and Fidicula.

Sayce identifies Wega, in Babylonian astronomy, with Dilgan, "the Messenger of Light", a name also applied to other stars; and Brown writes of it: "At one time Vega was the Pole-star called in Akkadian Tir-anna (" Life of Heaven "), and in Assyrian Dayan-same ("Judge of Heaven"), as having the highest seat therein; but fourteen millenniums have passed since Wega occupied that position!" Due to the precession of the equinoxes, Polaris is now our Pole Star; "the still point in the turning world".
The Chinese called Vega She-niu, "the weaver", and her beloved shepherd, Altair, who meet once a year, crossing the Milky Way. Christians saw Lyra as King David's harp. In Holland's translation of Pliny it is the Harp-star.

It was one of the stars in the Hindu 20th nakshatra, Abhtlit, "Victorious", the most northern of these stellar divisions and far out of the moon's path [usually the stars in moon mansions are ecliptic stars], but apparently utilized to bring in this splendid object; or, as Mueller says, because it was of specially good omen, for under its influence the gods had vanquished the Asuras; these last being the Hindu divinities of evil, similar to the Titans of Greece. It was the doubtful one of that country's lunar stations, included in some, but omitted in others of their lists in all ages of their astronomy, and entirely different from the corresponding Arabic manzil and Chinese sieu, which lay in Capricorn. The Hindus figured it as a Triangle, or as the three-cornered nut of the aquatic plant Cringata.

Vega, along with Deneb Adige in the Swan, and Altair in the Eagle, forms the Great Summer Triangle. (Allen).

Kynosoura, POLARIS "the still point in the turning world".

Fixed star: POLARIS Cynosura
Constellation: Alpha Ursa Minor
Longitude 1900: 27GEM10. Longitude 2000: 28GEM34.
Declination 1900: +88.46'. Declination 2000: +89.15'.
Right ascension: 02h31m. Latitude: +66.05'.
Spectral class: F8. Magnitude: 2.1.
Suggested orb: 1 deg. approx. Planetary nature: Sat-Ven

History of the star: A star in the tip of the tail of the Little Bear Ursa Minor. Its name comes to us from the Latin, Stella Polaris, meaning "Pole Star".

It was known as the Star of Arcady, a title referring to Arcas, son of Callisto, transferred to the skies, now Ursa Minor, by his father Jove, when ignorantly about to slay his mother (Ursa Major).

Polaris has long been an important star to sailors, caravans of old winding their way over the desert by night and others who navigated their way by the stars. Located almost directly overhead as seen from the North Pole, it is situated at the tip of the tail of the Little Bear, Ursa Minor and the Lucida of that constellation. Perhaps more than any star other than the Sun; Polaris has been regarded as the most important star in the heavens. It has been known by many names in the past; "the Pathway"; "the Pointer" - indicating the way; "Navel of the World", "Gate of Heaven", "Hub of the Cosmos", "the Highest Peak of the World Mountain", "Lodestar"; "the Steering Star"; "the Ship Star"; and Stella Maris "Star of the Sea".

Greek navigators of old called Polaris; Kynosoura, which means "the Dog's Tail". The name came into our English language as Cynosure, which means "an object that serves as a focal point of attention and admiration" or "Something that serves to guide".

The Arabs of old regarded Polaris as a hole in the sky in which the Earth's axis found its bearing. The Norsemen saw Polaris as holding the Universe together, Moguls calling it "the Golden Peg". In Damascus it is called Mismar, a "Needle" or "Nail" and Al Kutb al Shamaliyy, "the Northern Axle", or "Spindle", the Pin fixed in the under stone of a mill around which the upper stone turns.

Indians called it Grahadhara "the Pivot of the Planets" representing the great god Dhruva.

The Turks know it as Yilduz, the Star par excellence; and have a story that its light was concealed for a time after their capture of Constantinople.

The proximity of the stars of the two bears (Ursa Major and Ursa Minor) to the North Celestial Pole gave the impression that they were wheeling around this point, pulling perhaps a plough behind them, tilling the heavenly fields and driven on by Bootes the Bear Driver who chases or herds the Bears around Polaris. Another version of this story has it that the oxen were tied to the polar axis and were driven on by Bootes, assisted by his two dogs Canes Venatici, in order that the rotations of the heavens should never cease.

In spite of Polaris's usefulness in navigation, the Arabs looked on the star as an evil star, calling it Al Kiblah, because it was the star "least distant from the pole". To them it was also Giedi or Al Jadi, Al Jadi, or Juddah, "the Young He Goat", "the slayer of the man" who had slain the Great Warrior of the Sky; who forever lies in the huge coffin outlined by the stars marking the big dipper (Ursa Major), all the other stars mourn for their lost hero and each night march around the sky in a never-ending funeral procession. The villain, Polaris, alone is kept motionless, an outcast forever fixed to the coldest part of the northern sky. Muslims used this star to orient themselves toward Mecca, the place Muslims must face during worship.

To our eyes Polaris appears to be motionless at the center of the field of circumpolar stars, a "still point in the turning world". All the other stars appear to circle around Polaris. But as early as 320 BCE the Greeks has realized that Polaris did not mark the pole exactly. Until then many people had believed that the heavenly Pole was absolutely and eternally fixed. Polaris has long been moving nearer the North Celestial Pole as it is still doing now. It will be closest to that position around 2100 AD. Because the earth wobbles on its axis like a slowly spinning top, the Pole Star once was Thuban, the third star from the end of the tail of Draco. And in a little more that 5000 years from now, Alderamin, the brightest star in the constellation Cepheus, the King, will be the Pole Star. (Allen).

In past ages, whichever star held the position of Pole Star was worshipped as the star of that age. Polaris is now the star of our own age. The planet, Uranus, was discovered a degree (longitude) away from this star.

A good essay on Polaris by Lance Carlyle Carter can be read on this website: http://www.aquarian-age.net/goddess.html

Influence of the constellation: By the Kabalists it is associated with the Hebrew letter Tau and the 21st Tarot Trump "The Universe", "The World". (Robson).

General influence of the star: The Arabs were of the opinion that the contemplation of Polaris cured ophthalmia. (Robson).

The Chinese considered the Pole Star as the 'Great Honorable Lord of the Heavens'. Other races too had high admiration for it and one can draw the conclusion that, in a relevant position in the natal chart, it will give spiritual powers to the bearer and he will be highly respected. The Pole Star serves as a guide and indicator. If it is conjunct with planets in the angles, the native will have a good sense of discretion and is able to follow 'his intellect'. He clearly recognizes his aims and will pursue and achieve them. (Ebertin).

Ptolemy gives it a Saturn-Venus rating entirely right for the star which serves so well to guide us in our wanderings and this is just what it tell us about people when we find it strong in their charts. According to its aspects, they are excellent, or not so good at, receiving and giving guidance, and give it they always will and to any and all who will listen. (Dr Eric Morse).

A few suggestions on using the fixed stars
Effects:

Quote:
Aspects: The fixed stars operate by position and are said to "cast no rays" or, in other words, their aspects are said to be ineffective and their influence to be exerted only by conjunction and parallel.
Some authorities suggest aspects to the fixed stars can be read, but it is only the opposition that is thought to be of any relevance. The opposition may exert some influence due to the polarity, but the conjunction is by far the primary aspect to consider. Trines, sextiles and squares should therefore be discounted.
The fixed stars are only to be read to the natal and not to progressed or arc charts.
Fixed stars are irrelevant to the study of midpoints.

Py (cipher)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopediaPy is a stream cipher submitted to eSTREAM by Eli Biham and Jennifer Seberry. It is one of the fastest eSTREAM candidates at around 2.6 cycles per byte on some platforms. It has a structure a little like RC4, but adds an array of 260 32-bit words which are indexed using a permutation of bytes, and produces 64 bits in each round.

Central Cygnus
Credit & Copyright: Processing - Noel Carboni, Imaging - Greg Parker

Explanation: Supergiant star Gamma Cygni lies at the center of the Northern Cross, famous asterism in the constellation Cygnus the Swan. Known by the proper name Sadr, the bright star also lies at the center of this gorgeous skyscape, featuring a complex of stars, dust clouds, and glowing nebulae along the plane of our Milky Way galaxy. The field of view spans over 3 degrees (six Full Moons) on the sky and includes emission nebula IC 1318 and open star cluster NGC 6910. Left of Gamma Cyg and shaped like two glowing cosmic wings divided by a long dark dust lane, IC 1318's popular name is understandably the Butterfly Nebula. Above and left of Gamma Cyg, are the young, still tightly grouped stars of NGC 6910. Some distance estimates for Gamma Cyg place it at around 750 light-years while estimates for IC 1318 and NGC 6910 range from 2,000 to 5,000 light-years. Cygnus the Swan

...outstretched stars as a Yoke.

Gamma (Asellus Borealis), delta (Asellus Australis), eta, and theta were the Persian lunar station Avra-k, the Cloud, and the Coptic Ermelia, Nurturing.

In this constellation, with some slight variations as to boundaries at different times in Hindu astronomy, — gamma (Asellus Borealis) and delta (Asellus Australis) – the Aselli - always being included and occasionally eta, theta, and Praesaepe, — was located the 6th nakshatra Pushya, "Flower", or Tishiya, "Auspicious", with Brihaspati, the priest and teacher of the gods, as presiding divinity. It was sometimes figured as a "Crescent",

and again as the "head of an Arrow"; it was also called Sidhaya, "Prosperous".

The Arabic manzil Al Nathrah, the Gap in the hair under the muzzle of the supposed immense ancient Lion that the Arabs had here, was chiefly formed by Praesaepe; but later gamma (Asellus Borealis) and delta (Asellus Australis) – the Aselli - were sometimes included, when it was Al Himarain, the Two Asses, a title adopted from the Greeks. The Arabs also knew it as Al Fnm al Asad and as Al Anf al Asad, the Mouth, and the Muzzle, of the Lion, both referring to the early figure.

Inconspicuous though it be, the Babylonians used delta to mark their 13th ecliptic constellation Arku-sha-nangaru-sha-shutu, the Southeast Star in the Crab; and Brown says that the Aselli, with eta, theta, and Praesaepe, were the Akkadian Gu-shir-kes-da, the "Yoke of the Enclosure". (Allen).

Fixed star: ADHAFERA
Constellation: Zeta Leo
Longitude 1900: 26LEO10. Longitude 2000: 27LEO34.
Declination 1900: +23.55'. Declination 2000: +23.25'.
Right ascension: 10h16m. Latitude: +11.51'.
Spectral class: F0. Magnitude: 3.6.
Suggested orb: 1 deg. approx. Planetary nature: Sat-Mer

History of the star: A double star on the crest of the Lion's mane in Leo the "Curl of the Lion's mane". It has been called Al Serpha, "the Funeral Pyre". (Robson).

The Arabic name for Adhafera is Ad-Dafirah (1), "The curl". In Arabia, this star, Adhafera (zeta) with Regulus (Alpha) Algieba (gamma), and eta (Al Jabbah) were the Arabic 8th manzil, Al Jabhah, the "Forehead". [Influences: Promotes love, benevolence, and help against enemies.] (Allen).

Etymology: ADHAFERA. Curl of the Lion's mane. It has been called the Funeral Pyre. The “pyre” could be a significant echo of the FERA element, as HeBHeR is FIRE in Hebrew (see “FIRE”). Or, the fire can merely be connected to the Leo fire sign imagery, and the lion’s mane. The mane points to the hairy PeR(GH)A or FeRA root seen in “PILE.” Arabic FaRVaH is a better source for FUR than the given Old French – PILLOW is related. More than a lock of this hair is probably an Ayin-Daled-Yod, (GH)aDeeY, meaning ornament. Along with any flashy fire, this theme is likely to be a showy symbol of the subject’s gorgeous locks of hair, or even if bald, his/her curling, flowing ego. Right ascension: 20h22m. Latitude: +57.07'.
Spectral class: F8. Magnitude: 2.3.
Suggested orb: 1 deg. approx. Planetary nature: Ven-Mer

History of the star: A star in the breast of The Swan Cygnus. Sadr, or As-Sadr (1), from Arabic Al Sadr al Dajajah, "the Hen's Breast".

Christians saw in Cygnus the Cross of Calvary, Christi Crux, or Crux cum S. Helena. This Cross is formed by alpha (Deneb Adige), gamma (this star Sador), eta, and beta (Albireo), marking the upright along the Galaxy, more than 20° in length, zeta, epsilon (Gienah), gamma this star, and delta being the transverse. Gamma marks the center of the Cross.

These last (zeta, epsilon (Gienah), gamma this star, and delta) also were an Arab asterism, Al Fawaris, "the Riders"; alpha and kappa sometimes being added to the group.

Influence of the constellation: Cygnus gives a contemplative, dreamy, cultured and adaptable nature, the talents develop late. There is some love of water and swimming and the arts. By the Kabalists it is associated with the Hebrew letter Resh and the 20th Tarot Trump "Judgment". (Robson).

Fixed star: ETAMIN Eltanin, Rastaban
Constellation: Gamma Draco
Longitude 1900: 26SAG35. Longitude 2000: 27SAG58.

History of the star: A star in the right Eye of the Dragon, Draco. It was the pole star about 3500 BC. The Arabic name for Eltanin or Etamin is At-Tinnin (1), "The great serpent". Ras Eltanim, Eltanin, Ettanin, Etannin, Etanim, Etamin, etc., is from Al Ras al Tinnin, "the Dragon's Head", applied to this, as it also is to alpha (Thuban). The word Tinnin is nearly synonymous with Thu'ban.

This star was also called Rastaben, Rasaben, Rastaban "head of the snake".

It was one of Al'Awa'id, "the Mother Camels" which was known as the Quinque Dromedarii. In the Arabic theme for this constellation the stars beta (Alwaid), gamma (this star Etamin), nu (Kuma) and xi (Grumium) in the Head of the Dragon represent four mother camels protecting a baby camel from the attack of two hyenas (eta and zeta, Nodus 1). The nomads camp located nearby (the three unnamed stars in the neck of the Dragon: upsilon, tau, and sigma).

Apet, Bast, Mut, Sekhet, and Taurt were all titles of one goddess in the Nile worship, symbolized by this star, gamma Draconis, Etamin.

It is interesting to know that the Boeotian Thebes, the City of the Dragon, from the story of its founder, Cadmus, shared with its Egyptian namesake the worship of this star in a temple dedicated, so far as its orientation shows, about 1130 BCE, a cult doubtless drawn from the parent city (Thebes) in Egypt, and adopted in Greece, as also in Italy in the little temple to Isis in Pompeii. Here, however, the city authorities interfered with this star-worship in one of their numerous raids on the astrologers, and bricked up the opening whence the star was observed.

This star, Etamin, lies almost exactly in the zenith of Greenwich, in fact, it has been called the Zenith-star in Greenwich; and, being circumpolar, descends toward the horizon, but, without disappearing. (Allen).

Influence of the constellation: "According to Ptolemy the bright stars are like Saturn and Mars. Draco gives an artistic and emotional but somber nature, a penetrating and analytical mind, much travel and many friends, but danger of robbery and accidental poisoning. It gives craft, ingenuity, and valor. The Ancients said that when a comet was here, poison was scattered over the world. By the Kabalists it is associated with the Hebrew letter Mem and the 13th Tarot Trump, Death". (Robson).

The traditions and lore of Australia's indigenous peoples belong to what may be the oldest continuous culture on Earth
(circa 50,000 years).

Bagadjimbiri - two brothers and creator spirits. The Bagadjimbiri eventually turned into snakes and went to live in the sky as clouds.

Bahloo - the moon spirit In Australian aboriginal mythology, Bahloo is moon man. He keeps three deadly snakes as pets.
In the tale, Bahloo takes his snakes (calling them his 'dogs') out for a walk at night. He comes upon a group of men and asks them to carry the snakes across a river for him. They were afraid, and refused, so he did it himself, with two snakes coiled around each arm and one around his neck.

Baiame - the creator spirit of many language groups of South-East Australia, such as the Kamilaroi
Baiame came down from the sky to the land, and created rivers, mountains, and forests. He then gave the people their laws of life, their traditions, their songs, and their culture. He also created the first initiatian site (called a bora). This is where boys were initiated to become men. When he had finished, he returned to the sky, and people called him the Sky Hero or the All Father.

Bobbi-Bobbi - a giant snake that lived in the sky, similar to the Rainbow Serpent.
He was a huge snake, similar to the Rainbow Snake, and was originally benevolent towards humans.

Dhakhan - the ancestral spirit of the Kabi
In Australian aboriginal mythology, Dhakhan is the ancestral god of the Kabi; he is described as a giant serpent with the tail of a giant fish.

Eingana - a creator spirit and the mother of all water, animals, and humans.
She is a snake goddess of death who lives in the Dream time.

Galeru - a rainbow snake who swallowed the Djanggawul.

Gnowee - a solar spirit who lived on Earth before there was a sun.
Gnowee's baby son wandered off while she was gathering yams, and she began searching for him, carrying a large torch. She continues to do so, and her torch is the sun.

I'wai is the culture hero of the Koko Y'ao. I'wai was a crocodilian man who brought most of the Koko Y'ao religious rites and ceremonies.

Julunggul is a rainbow snake goddess, who oversaw the maturing and initiation of boys into manhood. She was a fertility goddess, associated with rebirth and the weather.

In Australian Aboriginal mythology, specifically of the Arrernte people of Central Australia, Mangar-kunjer-kunja is a lizard god who created humans.

The Rainbow Serpent (also known as the Rainbow Snake) is a major mythological being for Aboriginal people across Australia, although the creation stories associated with it are best known from northern Australia.

Ulanji is a snake-ancestor of the Binbinga.

Ungud is a snake god who is sometimes male and sometimes female. He is associated with rainbows and the fertility and erections of the tribe's shamans.

The Wagyl (alternative spelling Waugal or Waagal) is, according to Noongar culture, a snakelike Dreamtime creature responsible for the creation of the Swan and Canning Rivers and other waterways and landforms around present day Perth and the south-west of Western Australia.
A superior being, the Rainbow Serpent created the universe and the people and delegated the Wagyl as a lesser, but nonetheless powerful deity, to create and protect the rivers, lakes, springs and the wildlife.

Walo - the (female) Sun creator spirit in Northern Australia.

The Wati-kutjara are the lizard men (totem: iguana) who originally came from a mountain in the Dream time (they later taught shamans how to use and communicate with the Dream time). They created sacred talismans (called tjurunga) and gave them to the people. They also created trees and plants, and rivers, mountains, valleys and other geographic features. They castrated the man in the moon by throwing a magical boomerang, Kidili, because he tried to rape the first woman, who then turned into the Pleiades. He then died of his wounds in a waterhole. They are known to the tribes of central-western Australia in the Great Western Desert.

Wollunqua (or Wollunka, Wollunkua) is a snake-god of rain and fertility, who emerged from a watering hole in the Murschison Mountains.

Wuriupranili is a solar goddess who carries a torch that is the sun. At the ocean to the West, she douses the torch in water and uses the glowing embers to find her way beneath the Earth back to the East again. The colours of dawn and dusk come from the ochre body paints she wears.

Yhi is a goddess of light and creation, and a solar deity. She lived in the Dream time and slept until a whistle awakened her. When she opened her eyes, light fell on the Earth.

The above papal medal of Pope Gregory XIII, designed by L Parm, is dated 1582, marking the year of the Gregorian calendar reform. On the reverse of the medal is a winged dragon / serpent encircling a ram's head. As previously mentioned, the dragon is the biblical symbol of Satan (Rev 12). The serpent that is chasing or devouring its tail is called Ouroboros, Uroboros, or Oureboros. The ram's head is also a satanic symbol, and is frequently associated with the Egyptian deities, such as the god Amon (Amoun, Ammun, Ammon), the king of all gods, who was also regarded as the sun god, and Khnum, who created mankind on his potter's wheel from the mud of the Nile.

The intended symbolic meaning, however, is undoubtedly that of Aries the Ram, the first sign of the Zodiac, which symbolizes the Vernal / Spring Equinox, and Draco / Drako (or Ouroboros) the serpent depicting a cyclical returning. Pope Gregory XIII had modified the calendar specifically so that the Vernal Equinox would remain relatively constant, on or about March 21st, which is the beginning of the Zodiacal year, when the Sun crosses the Equator and enters the astrological sign of Aries. This had the desired result of returning Easter to the time specified by the Nicene Council (325 A.D.).

And we also know that the snake is representative of Ophiuchus the (hidden) Thirteenth Astrological Star Sign.

Serpent worship in early Christian art.

Yahweh is the serpent that curls around the prophets.
His head is at the lower right at the bottom of his column or pillar.

Yahweh/God is froming a G as can be seen in the image below, which is used by the freemasons.

The name ouroboros (or, in Latinized form, uroborus) is Greek οὐροβóρος, "tail-devourer". The depiction of the serpent is believed to have been inspired by the Milky Way, as some ancient texts refer to a serpent of light residing in the heavens.

Lucifer is a Latin word meaning "light-bearer" (from lux, lucis, "light", and ferre, "to bear, bring"), a Roman astrological term for the "Morning Star", the planet Venus.

We are told that Jesus was a carpenter, but was he ?

The idea that he was a carpenter depends on one single reference in Mark's Gospel "Is not this the carpenter the son of Mary?"

But the Greek word 'tekton' and the underlying Aramaic word 'naggara' does not mean carpenter but more correctly translated "master builder or stone mason."

Quote:
Revelation 22:16 (KJV) "I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star."

Quote:
Revelation 22:16 (NIV) "I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star."

Quote:
2 Peter 1:19 (New International Version) "19And we have the word of the prophets made more certain, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts."

Jesus as the crucified serpent.
By current report it's a copy from the ancient
"The Book of Abraham the Jew"
found during the 14th century.

Moses interceded with God and was instructed:
"Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live"
(Numbers 21:8).

Jesus as a serpent-god from bas-relief in Egypt.
This drawing was made by a member of Napoleon's army in 1798, one hundred years before the same face appeared to the world `for the first time ever' on the photograph of the Shroud of Turin.

Adam, Eve, and the (female) Serpent at the entrance to Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. Medieval Christian art often depicted the Edenic Serpent as a woman, thus both emphasizing the Serpent's seductiveness as well as its relationship to Eve. (This connection might be due do the influence of Lilith, as well.) Several early Church Fathers, including Clement of Alexandria and Eusebius of Caesarea, interpreted the Hebrew "Heva" as not only the name of Eve, but in its aspirated form as "female serpent."

The Vatican's Crest: the 'snake-/dragon' as displayed in the Vatican Museum..

Quote:
The word 'vatican' comes from Latin and is a contraction of two words in the following way:

'Vatis' = 'prophetic' or 'diviner'
'Can' = 'serpent/snake'

These two words combined make:

'the prophetic- or made divine serpent'
The Vaticaan is a place, so you may say, that 'Vatican' means 'the place of the prophetic- and worshipped serpent'.

The Phoenician serpent god, alias Basilisk. The serpent, as well as the image of the sun, is always a phallic symbol in ancient religion. Basilisk is where the Roman Catholic Church got the name-- St. Peter's Basilica. Basilica is the old Greek name for the temple of the phallic god. How appropriate this is in view of the perpetual obsessions of the priests of "Mother Church." It also is well complimented by the obelisk in St. Peter's square which is a world wide phallic symbol complete with the phallic ball on top.

The term "seraph" has worried Biblical translators and commentators over the years. It is translated as "fiery serpent" in the King James version.

So who is it that the multitudes of christians throughout the world truly worship ???

Who is the BRIDE that the groom is married to within the christian ritual of marriage and who is the contract with
(to death do us part) ???

Is it the same as the "God/Goddess" that they worship ???

Astrological theology, or astro-theology, may tell us more than who it is that the christians worship. Understanding the representations may tell us about the history of humanity, our connection with the universe, who the "Gods" of ancient religions are and what role they have played in the evolution of life on this planet.
